Interpol, The Kooks, White Lies and You Me At Six for Coke Live Music Festival 2011

The Kooks,

The Kooks,

Though we still remember the great Coke Live Festival 2010 gigs, it’s time to introduce part of this year’s lineup. We are pleased to announce that the 6th edition of the Coke Live Music Festival will take place in the Aviation Museum ground in Krakow on the 19th and 20th of August 2011. Today’s announcement is a full Main Stage line-up for the first festival day.

After dark, with their black suits the long-awaited Interpol will appear. This NYC band has a cult status in Poland since the release of the debut album ‘Turn On The Bright Lights’. With their new material, from last year’s self-titled album, and indie-rock-classics such a ‘PDA’ or ‘Slow Hands’ Paul Banks and Co. will thrill the audience at 11 pm.

Two hours earlier on Main Stage will be The Kooks. They are currently recording a follow-up to their Number One UK Album ‘ ‘Konk’. The Kooks, with their pop-folk-indie hymns, will be this, what Coke Live Music Festival fans have been waiting for.

Another band in the line-up is White Lies. Their new album ‘Ritual’ confirms that London-based trio wasn’t one-season star. There is also, no other English team, who within three years conquered the Polish market in such a successful way. White Lies will be performing at 7pm.

You Me At Six playing on the Main Stage will start to perform half an hour earlier, than the band’s name suggest. They released two good-received albums and now working on a third. Group will come to Poland for the very first time and their performance at Coke Live Music Festival will be a perfect chance to listen to the new songs.

Deaf Havana

New rock music channel LAVA launches 29 March 2010 on SKY 378, providing a platform for young rock and indie musicians.   This is the latest venture from Mushroom TV, the production company behind Channel AKA (formerly Channel U), who are aiming to repeat the success of AKA within a new genre.   LAVA will cover all rock sub-genres from Heavy Metal & Punk Rock to Grunge, Indie Rock and & Nu Metal and features unsigned acts from around the UK such as Deaf Havana, You Me At Six and Enter Shikari alongside classic and brand new Rock music. The motivation behind the launch is to uncover unsigned talent from the rock scene, before anyone else.  Channel AKA helped to launch the careers of triple award winners and platinum selling Grime artists N-Dubz; Number 1 artist Tinchy Stryder; MOBO winner Chipmunk, and Mercury prize winner and Number 1 artist Dizzee Rascal to name but a few. AKA has been the first and only station to broadcast many up & coming Grime artists on music television, offering an opportunity to build a UK-wide fan base and to help bring them to the attention of record labels and artist management.    AKA has also given many presenters a starting point for their future success, before he joined MTV to host the British version of Pimp My Ride, Tim Westwood had a show on Channel AKA, Radio 1 D.J’s Ace & Vis begun their media journey by hosting The Illout Show and MTV’s Scottie B had his TV debut with The Channel U Christmas Special. The Channel AKA and Lava formats allow the viewer to be in full control of the play list via a voting system, meaning that you only have to see the videos that you want to see.

You Me At Six to spill ‘Liquid Confidence’

You Me At Six

You Me At Six

You Me At Six are a 5-piece pop band from Weybridge, Surrey who formed in 2005. You Me At Six to spill ‘Liquid Confidence’ . YOU ME AT SIX’S meteoric rise from the underground to the mainstream continues unabated. Already scheduled to play their biggest tour to date next month, the quintet will also release their new single ‘Liquid Confidence’ on April 19th on Virgin Records.   Combining tender emotions with the band’s patented exuberant energy, ‘Liquid Confidence’ utilises an acoustic opening and atmospheric vocal harmonies to create one of the band’s most anthemic moments to date. The single is taken from the band’s recently released second album ‘Hold Me Down’ that debuted at #5 as the second highest new entry of the week – three places above Delphic.    Their biggest headline show to date at London’s Roundhouse will be surpassed with the Brixton date of their imminent UK tour:

March
14th – Glasgow, O2 Academy
16th – Leeds, O2 Academy
17th – Nottingham Rock City
18th – Southampton, Guildhall
19th – Norwich, UEA
20th – London, Brixton O2 Academy

Produced by John Mitchell (Funeral For A Friend, Enter Shikari, Architects) and Matt O’Grady (The Blackout, Hexes), and mastered by Bob Ludwig (Radiohead, Coldplay, Pearl Jam), ‘Hold Me Down’ has built upon the momentum which was established with their critically-acclaimed debut album ‘Take Off Your Colours’. The Surrey quintet has twice been nominated for Best British Band at the Kerrang! Awards and were also named Best British Newcomers in the Kerrang! Readers’ Poll.  The five piece played locally until early 2007 when spring support slots with Saosin at Leeds Cockpit (03.05.07) and later Paramore at the Colchester Arts Centre (10.06.07) saw them attract media attention from the likes of Kerrang, Musicscoop and NME. In July 2007 they supported Tonight Is Goodbye on their summer tour along with Death Can Dance and then later that month were featured in Kerrang magazine in their new music section. The group were then recruited as support for firstly Fightstar on their September tour and then Elliot Minor in October 2007. Following their return from those tours they headlined a special Halloween show at the Kingston Peel with support from notable local acts such as Consort With Romeo and We Have A Getaway. In Nov/Dec of 2007 they released their debut single “Save It For The Bedroom” on Slam Dunk Records and then went on their first headline tour with support from Flood Of Red playing six dates across the country. In December 2007 the band were announced as support for The Audition’s February 2008 UK tour. You Me At Six were also nominated for Best British Newcomer at the Kerrang! DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL 2009

download-festivalrtvFrom 12 Jun 2009 – 14 Jun 2009 The UK’s biggest, loudest, distortion-fuelled rock and metal festival returns to Donington Park for three more days of hard and heavy axe-wielding action.  With a taste for the biggest and most influential names in the heavy rock scene, Download Festival has attracted sets from KISS, Metallica, Guns ‘N Roses, Iron Maiden and The Prodigy in recent years and fans can expect more big names this time around.  The site underwent a revamp last year and it now houses two outdoor stages and a tent as well as an extreme sports bar, five-a-side football pitch, market, merchandise stands and chill-out area Kidney Woods.  Download 2009 will offer bespoke camping over the weekend.  AGreenerFestival say this about the festival: Download won the ‘most improved’ festival in the 2007 Greener Festival Awards and organisers Live Nation built on this in 2008 with travel planning and carbon offsetting offered to the audience. A new artist briefing booklet that explained the festival’s environmental work was given to performers who were encouraged to improve their own carbon footprint with handy hints and tips. The deposit system for recycling introduced in 2007 was continued and audience recycling in the campsite was encouraged and further promoted.
