The ‘Baby’ singer is working on his second album – a follow-up to 2010′s ‘My World 2.0′ – and is keen not to stick to one genre of music because he believes he has a voice that suits many styles.
He told MTV: “I want to work a lot with myself. I’m not gonna limit myself – I think music is music, and genre, I mean, there’s country, rock, but my music is very different. My voice is not meant for any style.”
The 17-year-old heartthrob is writing the album while he is on his ‘My World’ tour and said he couldn’t wait for fans to hear his new music.
Writing on his twitter page, he said: “been writing alot of songs on the road. excited to just get this music out later this year and record this summer.
While he is working on his second album, Justin recently revealed he would love to record a duet with girlfriend Selena Gomez because he thinks the Disney starlet’s music is “amazing”.
He said: “Maybe I’d sing with Selena, I’ve heard all of her new stuff it’s amazing. I would also love to work with Will.i.am as well as Jay-Z – on a cool fun record.”

The Black Eyed Peas star wrote the track ‘Big Fat Bass’ for Britney’s new album ‘Femme Fatale’ and loved working with her because her enthusiasm was infectious.
He said: “I discovered her love for music. I have never seen anyone, like, come alive, full of excitement and giggling and laughing behind the mic.
‘She was like a little kid when she was recording the song and it just brought the whole atmosphere, it changed the whole atmosphere when someone really loves music. So it was great working with her.”
Despite Britney’s enthusiasm, will.i.am said she is also completely professional and didn’t any advice from him.
He added to MTV: “When someone’s excited to go out and just do it, what advice? You don’t need no advice. She is like, ‘When I say on the song, ‘You all better get ready for the kick drum,” she was already anticipating what she was going to do onstage when that beat broke down.
‘Adding that type of perspective, when we were recording it, you don’t need to give nobody like Britney advice.”
Meanwhile, will.i.am and the other members of the Black Eyed Peas ‘ Fergie, Taboo and apl.de.ap ‘ have announced plans to open a school for New York teenagers to learn video and music production through their charitable organisation, The Peapod Foundation.
will.i.am said: “Our passion for music and media was fuelled by many generous people on our road to success. Expanding the network of Peapod Adobe Youth Voices academies enables us to pay it forward, giving more youth the skills and encouragement they need to realise their dreams.”
This week, the cast of the upcoming animated flick “Rio” held the world premiere for their movie in—wouldn’t ya know—Rio de Janeiro! Jesse Eisenberg (who voices the main character Blu) and his co-stars headed down to Brazil for all the colorful fun, including Will.i.am. who snapped pictures with his “Rio” pal Anne Hathaway (pictured) and shared with followers, “Me and ann hathaway in rio…she sings the fabulous by the way.” But they weren’t the only ones enjoying themselves, as Jamie Foxx, who also lends his voice to the movie, previously posted, “I’m canceling my life…. I’m in Brazil to stay…..”
Meanwhile, back in La La Land, the ladies of “Sucker Punch” held their premiere on Wednesday night. Everyone from Emily Browning to Vanessa Hudgens walked the red carpet, and it seems Zack Snyder’s dreamy caper is already getting raves. “Juno” writer and all-around kick-butt chick herself Diablo Cody checked out the film and gave her own unique thoughts on it from her Twitter, “Saw the amazing “Sucker Punch” last night. I have officially retitled it “Holly Madison vs. the World.”
After will.i.am joined the rest of the Black Eyed Peas for an explosive Super Bowl Half-Time Show, he got right back to work, hitting the studio with none other than Britney Spears. Spears is hard at work on her seventh studio album, “Femme Fatale,” and is still recording some last minute tracks for inclusion on the album. She teamed up with will.i.am, who’s not only produced hits for the Peas but for Usher, Fergie, Estelle, and Cheryl Cole.
“In the studio with @iamwill,” Brit tweeted. “You guys are gonna love this one.”
Will.i.am also tweeted his thoughts about hitting the studio with the pop princess for the first time. “She’s such a sweet heart. She’s a perfectionist,” he said.
Other than will.i.am, Brit’s been relatively quiet over just who she’s hit the studio with, but some of the hitmakers that could appear on her latest effort include Bloodshy & Avant (“Toxic”), Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, and Billboard.
We’ll see how good of a team Britney and will.i.am make when “Femme Fatale” hits stores on March 29th. The album, executive produced by and featuring additional tracks from previous collaborators Max Martin and Dr. Luke, will of course feature the #1 single “Hold It Against Me.”

Top spot went to American singer Kesha’s debut release ‘Tik Tok’ with more than double that – 12.8 million copies. Although the digital market increased by 6% bosses are still blaming illegal downloads for it not being bigger. IFPI chief executive Frances Moore said: “As we enter 2011, digital piracy, and the lack of adequate legal tools to fight it, remains the biggest threat to the future of creative industries. “Great new legitimate music offerings exist all over the world, offering consumers a wide range of ways to access music. “Yet they operate in a market that is rigged by piracy, and they will not survive if action is not taken to address this fundamental problem. This is the challenge and the opportunity for governments to seize in 2011.”

The Black Eyed Peas reveal details of next album. The Black Eyed Peas spill the beans on the follow-up to their multi-platinum The E.N.D. Curiously enough, it’ll be called The Beginning and will be released in Australia on November 26. Will.I.Am said of the title: ‘The Beginning is symbolic of adopting new technologies, such as augmented reality, 3D, and 360 video. It’s also about being experimental and taking songs we’ve liked from the past and playing around with sick, crazy beats.’ The first single will be ‘The Time (The Dirty Bit)’ is due out on November 9. Much like all of their major hits, it’ll be built around a sample from a previously successful and market-tested hit. Tthis time it’s Bill Medley and Jennifer Warne’s ‘(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life’, the smash hit from the soundtrack to Dirty Dancing. Fergie said of the song, ‘The song is a celebration of this amazing time in our lives. We’ve been on tour all over the world, and looking out at stadiums full of people who came out to see us – that’s as big as it gets. After the shows, we go out to the clubs and meet the fans; those are moments that we have to remember.’ The Beginning will be released as a standard CD, a deluxe edition with three extra songs, vinyl, and a two CD set with 20 songs from The Beginning and The Best Of The E.N.D.
Fergie Reportedly Wants To Leave The Black Eyed Peas. Fergie could be going solo again, but this time for good. Reports have begun circulating of rising tension within the Black Eyed Peas, with some saying the superstar group’s female lead is ready to leave the rest of the boys behind. According to our source, Will.i.Am is the main reason Stacy “Fergie” Ferguson wants to leave the band. A source close the band told us that there’s been a clash of egos as of late. “Things have gotten really bad with Will.i.Am. And it’s not just Fergie who is clashing with him. So is the rest of the band. His ego is out of control,” the source said. “Fergie just wants to get away from the whole thing.” Fergie reportedly doesn’t want to commit herself to a 2011 tour. She‘s also reportedly ready to settle down and have her first baby with husband Josh Duhamel, something her current exhaustive touring schedule won’t allow. “Between that and the bad blood with Will, it looks like the 2011 tour is in big trouble and she’s saying she’s going to split for good,” the source continued. Will.i.Am has already taken to Twitter to debunk the reports, saying, “Don’t believe gossip about Fergie leaving the group (we are never breaking up). It’s all lies!!!” Fergie has not commented on any reports, however. The group is currently performing overseas on their “E.N.D.” tour.
