8. Pretty Reckless
However you see her, foul-mouthed brat or teenage provocateur Taylor Momsen, who flashed her 17-year-old breasts to the audience during a Pretty Reckless show earlier this year, has made her and her band seem like Courtney Love Jr. and Hole-lite.
7. Adam Lambert
The “American Idol” almost-winner set out on his first headlining tour this year, giving fans all the glitter, glam, and throaty wailing they could hope for.
The Hayley Williams-fronted rockers set out on a headlining tour in support of last year’s “Brand New Eyes,” which included plenty of cell phone-lit renditions of their hit “The Only Exception.”
Before she was the “Only Girl (In the World),” Rihanna was on her “Last Girl on Earth” tour, performing hits off last year’s “Rated R” and her mega-hit “Umbrella.”
4. The Black Eyed Peas

The Colombian pop princess earned one of the biggest international hits this year with the World Cup anthem “Waka Waka (Time For Africa)” and one of its biggest tours, in support of her latest album “Sale El Sol.”
Robyn released one of the most acclaimed albums of the year with “Body Talk” and her North American outings this year, where she performed singles like “Dancing On My Own” and “Hang With Me” to a throng of sing-along crowds, had Billboard calling her “one of the greatest pop performers of this decade.”
1. Lady Gaga
The “Bad Romance” singer kicked off the year with one leg of her “Monster Ball Tour” and is closing out 2010 with yet another. Continuing on through 2011, the tour will finally wrap in May after 200 performances. Rihanna Debuts At #1 On First Ever Billboard Social 50 Chart. The increasing popularity of music on YouTube, Facebook, and other social network sites has spawned a brand new chart on Billboard debuting this week, the Social 50. Rihanna is the first artist to top the chart, followed closely by Justin Bieber.
Joining charts like the Billboard Hot 100, which currently factors online streaming into its rankings, the Social 50 chart tallies artist popularity using weekly song plays, artist page views, additions fans and followers, and more on sites like Facebook, Twitter, iLike, YouTube, and MySpace. Billboard will use the social music tracking service Next Big Sound. Rihanna enters at #1 on the chart’s debut week, followed by Justin Bieber at #2 and Eminem at #3. Lady Gaga is at #4, while Nicki Minaj, who just released her debut album, rounds out the top 5. “The Social 50 provides a weekly snapshot of the artists that music fans engage with the most in the social arena, which in today’s world is a significant validation of their investment in an act,” says Billboard Chart Director, Silvio Pietroluongo. “We continue to adapt the way we chart the changing landscape of music,” says Billboard Editorial Director, Bill Werde. “The Social 50 is yet another step in the evolution of Billboard and an important response to our changing times.” “The volume of online activity that top artists now receive is too big to ignore,” says Next Big Sound CEO, Alex White. “We are thrilled that social music activity now receives the same emphasis as the music charts for which Billboard is synonymous.” Elsewhere on the chart, which is available in full on Billboard.com, are Michael Jackson at #12, the cast of “Glee” at #25, Girl Talk at #36, and Demi Lovato at #47.

When she’s not making people go “Waka Waka” with her hit World Cup anthem, Shakira is expanding her international brand. She recently unveiled her new fragrance, simply titled S, which is sure to smell like success. S is said to contain notes of benzoin, amber, vanilla, as well as fresh woods and Indian jasmine Sambac. “Like a song, a perfume is composed of different individual notes, which together form a harmony,” Shakira said about her new fragrance. Also set to hit stores later this year is her follow-up to last year’s “She Wolf.” The spanglish album is said to be influenced by sounds from Dominican Republic and Colombia, as well as more rock sounds. It’s due in September.
Shakira is addicted to chocolate. The ‘She Wolf’ hitmaker admits she only realised how strong her cravings for the sugary treat were when she woke up tearful after dreaming of it while dieting to get in shape for a music video. She said: ‘I love chocolate. I’m addicted to it. Do you know when I realised that? Shortly before we started shooting the video for ‘She Wolf.’ ‘I needed a whole month to get back into shape. I danced, worked out and had to stick to a strict diet – only fish, spinach and a specially-prepared dessert with tofu. For the first time in my life I was dreaming of chocolate and cake and always woke up with tears in my eyes.’ However, the Columbian-born beauty made sure she made up for her deprivation as soon as filming the video was complete. She added to website Tagesspiegel.de: ‘When we finished shooting the video I went to a cafe in Los Angeles and had five pieces of chocolate cake in one go!’
