Britney Spears invites Prince William and Kate Middleton to her “Femme Fatale “concert

Britney Spears is set to take her “Femme Fatale” show to London’s O2 Arena next month and, while there, she would love to have the royal seal of approval. She hopes to perform for Prince William and Kate Middleton and is inviting them to one of her shows. Spears tells Glamour UK, which she covers this month, how cool she considers the possibility of having the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in attendance at her show, which has had celebrity attendees such as Lady Gaga and the Kardashians.

“That would be amazing. That would be really crazy and cool,” Spears said. “I think they’re a beautiful couple. Unfortunately I didn’t get to watch the wedding but I heard it was beautiful.”

The princess of pop had her chance at being real royalty. She was Prince William’s teenage crush. She says she finds it “hilarious” and “had no idea” that she was once the object of his puppy love.

Spears continues her “Femme Fatale Tour” later this month, kicking off the second leg in Russia on Sept. 22. She finally hits England at the end of October for a few shows before she does another full leg in South America.

Britain’s newly married royal couple continued to wow Canadians during their nine-day official visit to different provinces. Prince William amazed them with his helicopter-flying skills, while Kate was admired for her fashion sense on Monday.

Crowds cheered when the Duke of Cambridge displayed a gentle landing of the Sea King on the lake as part of their Prince Edward Island visit. His other helicopter tricks include water taxiing and landing and taking off with one engine shut down.

The prince acquired his helicopter flying skills from his training at the Royal Air Force College Cranwell and the Royal Air Force where he is a member of No. 22 Squadron performing co-pilot duties on a Sea King search-and-rescue chopper.

Later the couple joined in a dragon boat race with the prince and his wife riding different vessels. Prince William’s team won the race.

Kate appropriately wore a nautical dress while visiting the Maritime province. She had a cream colored knit dress made by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, the same designer of her wedding gown. The dress had a necktie with an anchor and navy trim, and navy stripes around the sleeves and waistband.

The duchess also wore diamond and sapphire earnings, and blue pumps.

She later changed into a black and grey Nike windbreaker, slim navy trousers, navy-belted trenchcoat, red scarf and beiege and white deck shoes for the dragon boat rice, while William put on a checked shirt.

The royal wedding is the gift that keeps on giving. William and Kate’s wedding charity raised $1.7 million thanks to very charitable guests.

The Royal Wedding Charitable Gift Fund was created by the newlyweds and William and Kate asked guests who wanted to give them a gift to instead donate to a charity.

St. James’s Palace released a statement saying, “Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted that these charities are able to benefit so positively from their special day.”

A total of 26 charities will receive funds from the Royal Wedding Charitable Gift Fund including those who focus on the following:

Changing Lives through Arts and Sport,
Children Fulfilling Their Potential, and
Help and Care at Home.

Prince William and Prince Harry gave the funds to each of the charities.

William, 28, has visited the United States before, but this will be his first trip to the country in an official capacity.

Meanwhile, the 29-year-old Middleton has never before visited the U.S. officially or privately.

The royal newlyweds’ U.S. excursion will follow a visit to Canada from June 30-July 8.

Prince Harry gets cozy with ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davy

His brother Prince William married his princess, so it’s just natural Prince Harry is inspired to pursue his own. The third in line to the throne reportedly got cozy with his on-off girlfriend Chelsy Davy during his brother’s wedding celebration to Kate Middleton.

Harry, 26, has been dating the Zimbabwean-born British beauty since 2004. After an on-and-off relationship, the two decided to end it for good in 2009.

But according to Us magazine sources, Harry is back together with Chelsy, 25. They were apparently seen “acting like a couple” and kissing in front of the guests of his brother and sister-in-law’s wedding.

While other reports claim that Harry is making a move on Pippa Middleton, Kate’s younger sister and maid of honor, the Daily Mail insisted that he only had eyes for Chelsy.

The bad news for the “spare heir” is that Chelsy loves her life back in Africa more than she does Harry.

A source told the U.K. paper, “Chelsy loves Harry but her heart is back with her family in Africa. She hates all the hoop-la that comes with dating a royal… she says, ‘All of that fuss, it’s just not for me.’”

The talk show host discovered through a genealogical society that she is a distant cousin of the future princess and still has her fingers crossed for a last-minute invitation to her wedding to Prince William.

In an interview with Terri Seymour for ‘Extra’, she said: “We’re 15th cousins, yeah, it’s not like we’re 20th or something … we’re 15th.

“It’s not too late, Terri. I’m not counting anything out. That’s not how I got to where I am, by being a glass-half-empty kind of person. I mean, there could be a phone call.

“I have a beautiful outfit picked out, and a hat.”

Although she may not be invited to the nuptials, Ellen is hopeful she can use her family connections to secure an interview with Kate.

She said: “There will be a time when Oprah’s not gonna be around next year. Who will be around to help her when she needs something? Me.”

Ellen – who is married to actress Portia de Rossi is not the only American celebrity desperate to attend Kate and William’s nuptials at London’s Westminster Abbey.

Reese Witherspoon – who recently wed Hollywood agent Jim Toth – admitted she would have given anything to get an invite.

She said: “I can’t even contain my enthusiasm for the royal wedding! I’m kind of bummed I’m not invited to the royal wedding. My girlfriend asked me if I was invited. Well, no, but I invited them to my wedding!”

Celebrities fortunate enough to be invited include David Beckham and his wife Victoria, Sir Elton John and his husband David Furnish, Guy Ritchie and Joss Stone.

The Girls Aloud singer is disappointed not to have received an invitation to the nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton today (29.04.11), but is making up for it by throwing a bash to watch the ceremony with her family and friends. She said: ‘Royal wedding fever has hit ‘ I’m so excited! I have met Prince Charles a few times so it’s a shame I didn’t get an invite ‘ I’ll have to settle for watching it at home. I’ve been nominated to hold a party and I’ve got a magnum of champagne to crack open.’

Kimberley is particularly excited to see what the bride will wear, as details of her gown have been kept under wraps until now.

She added: ‘ can’t wait to see what style of dress Kate goes for ‘ I’d like to see something feminine and classic but nothing too simple. I want to see a mammoth train!’

Since Girls Aloud went on hiatus, Kimberley has undertaken some presenting work and she admits she would have liked to have been asked to work on the royal wedding ‘ though there is one advantage to not being involved.

She said: ‘ would have loved to have covered the royal wedding. It would have been a great gig and a great chance to be nosy, but it would have stressed me out figuring out what to wear ‘ the pressure would be immense!’

Ellie Goulding will perform at the wedding reception of Prince William and Kate Middleton tomorrow (29.04.11). The royal couple will tie the knot at Westminster Abbey in London followed by a meal hosted by Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace and the ‘Starry Eyed’ singer has been invited to provide the after-dinner entertainment at an intimate gathering for 300 people hosted by William’s father Prince Charles.

William and Kate reportedly chose the pop star because they believe her music will appeal to guests of all ages.

A source said: ‘William and Kate are huge fans of Ellie and were keen to sign her up.

‘Her music goes down well with the young ones, plus a few of the older guests will be nodding their heads along.

‘They really wanted a top British talent and the couple are delighted Ellie agreed to perform. She can’t wait, although she’s a tad nervous.’

William, 28 and Kate, 29, hope Ellie will serenade them with her cover of ‘Your Song’ by Sir Elton John ‘ who will attend the nuptials with his partner David Furnish ‘ and the excited singer is said to be ‘honoured’ with the invitation.

An insider told the Daily Mail newspaper: ‘Ellie was knocked off her feet when she received the invitation to perform for Prince William and Kate ‘ and was so hugely honoured when they said they were both big fans of her music.

‘She still can’t quite believe that she will perform for the royal newlyweds, all the young royal guests and their friends, it hasn’t sunk in yet.’

Ellie, 24, will be accompanied by her boyfriend, DJ Greg James.

Morrissey has labelled the British Royal Family ‘benefit scroungers’

Morrissey has labelled the British Royal Family “benefit scroungers” ahead of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding on Friday (29.04.11).  While the ceremony at London’s Westminster Abbey will be attended by 1,900 guests and is expected to be watched by a worldwide audience of two billion, the former Smiths singer won’t be among the viewers as he believes Queen Elizabeth and her family don’t “serve any purpose”.

The ‘Queen Is Dead’ singer – who is famously against the UK monarchy – said: “Why would I watch the wedding? Why would I watch it? I couldn’t take any of that seriously.

“I don’t think the so-called royal family speak for England now and I don’t think England needs them. I do seriously believe that they are benefit scroungers and nothing else. I don’t believe they serve any purpose whatsoever.”

Morrissey – real name Steven Patrick Morrissey – also claimed his view is shared by many of his countrymen and says he won’t be the only person not celebrating when Kate and William tie the knot.

In an interview on station BBC – Radio 5 Live, he added: “Go out now and speak to people on the street and they will laugh at you. They really will.”

While the 51-year-old singer won’t be watching the nuptials, a number of celebrities have been invited including Sir Elton John and his husband David Furnish, David Beckham and his wife Victoria, Guy Ritchie, Joss Stone and comic actor Rowan Atkinson.
