Nero will unveil their first ever full live set at GlobalGathering 2011

The ‘Guilt’ dubstep-crossover band will play backed by live musicians for the first time at the festival which will also see performances from Tinie Tempah, Alex Metric, Swedish House Mafia DJ Steve Angello, Eric Prydz, Underworld and Pendulum.

Nero said: “GlobalGathering is the mother of all dance festivals, and we can’t wait to perform our full live show to what we know will be a really explosive crowd.”

Tinie will be taking to the stage for the second time in as many years, following his breakthrough show at last year’s festival ‘ which was at the time one of the biggest crowds he had ever played to.

Alongside the larger performers are a number of smaller stages showcasing some of the UK’s more underground talent including the Godskitchen, Metropolis and RISE Arenas.

This year’s Download Festival line-up just keeps getting bigger and better, as festival organisers today announce a further 43 bands, along with details on how to purchase Day Tickets for this year’s festival which takes place in Donington Park on 10-12 June.

Limited Day Tickets for Download will go on sale at 9am Friday 15 April priced at £75 (plus booking fee) from the official Download website, www.downloadfestival.co.uk. Weekend tickets, guest area passes and RIP packages are all available to purchase from the Download website as well.

To coincide with the on sale of day tickets, the Day & Stage splits for Download Festival have also been revealed, which pits the classic rock of Def Leppard against the drum ‘n’ bass chaos of Pendulum and the dark metal of Danzig on the Friday night, the much anticipated return of System Of A Down against the theatrical spectacular that is Alice Cooper and the solid riffery of Funeral For A Friend on the Saturday, and the world-class heavy rock of Linkin Park versus the all-consuming presence of Rob Zombie and the folk-punk of our very own Frank Turner on the Sunday night.

Alongside the Main Stage and the Second Stage, this year’s Download is proud to present the Pepsi Max Stage, which will host performances from the likes of Times Of Grace, The King Blues and Framing Hanley across the weekend.

Also returning to Download is the Red Bull Bedroom Jam Stage. The live webcast platform for up-and-coming bands will be bringing some of the best new and established acts from across the UK and beyond. Once again, eight successful bands from the search for new talent will be joining the stage line up following 15 weeks of live gigs beamed across the world from band’s bedrooms. With 8 weeks left to enter there’s still the chance to be one of those bands. Pendulum release new single.

Pendulum’s hectic summer schedule has already included a hugely diverse range of major festival appearances such as Radio 1′s Big Weekend, Sonisphere and major outdoor shows with The Prodigy and Tiesto. They will follow their imminent NME / Radio 1 Stage headlining sets at the Reading and Leeds festivals with the release of the new single ‘The Island’ on September 20th on Earstorm / Warner Bros. Records. In keeping with ‘The Island’ theme, Pendulum will embark upon a whistlestop Balearic Islands tour in September. Supported by Sub Focus, Pendulum will play the inaugural Majorca Rocks on September 6th before returning for one of their now infamous Ibiza Rocks shows the following day. The sprawling two-part, nine-minute centrepiece of their #1 album ‘Immersion’, ‘The Island’ flows from its atmospheric, cinematic introduction into a visceral attack of grinding beats and venomous synths. ‘The Island’ also represents an invigorating example of their prog & bass sound that has emerged from the band’s constant desire to expand their musical palette. The single’s full nine-minute version will be released as an exclusive iTunes bundle, while a radio edit will also be available as well as a DJ edit of ‘Part II’. Remixes come courtesy of Tiesto and Dutch drum & bass producer Lenzman. The CD version will include the remixes, the original and radio edit. Noah and the Whale close Crisis gigs

noah-and-the-whale-rtvThe Crisis Hidden Gigs series came to a close last night at the FreedM Studio in The Roundhouse, Camden, London with Noah and The Whale. The band amazed the intimate audience with favourites and exclusive new material.  Just 200 tickets went on sale for the intimate gig in central London, and it was a great chance for fans to see Noah and The Whale before they embark on their tour of the UK festivals, starting with Glastonbury in just 2 days time.  Talking about last night’s gig, lead singer Charlie Fink said: ‘We were so pleased to do a hidden gig for Crisis. It was great to see our London fans again and do a warm up for Glastonbury with this very intimate gig, in one of our favourite venues, and for an extremely important cause.  “Crisis do some incredible work for hidden homeless people across the UK and we are very flattered to be asked to help them get their message across.’  The gig also featured great sets from rising stars Wave Machines and friend of Noah and The Whale – Jay Jay Pistolet.  The series of Crisis Hidden Gigs throughout May and June were a fantastic opportunity to see top acts in intimate, unusual spaces – making for a unique musical experience. By withholding details until the last minute, Crisis aimed to raise awareness of the precarious situation facing hidden homeless people, who often don’t know where they will end up each night and are often forced to move from place to place.  The campaign featured a diverse range of artists including Hot Chip, Dodgy, The Bluetones, Pendulum, David Gilmour with Amadou and Mariam, Starsailor and The Magic Numbers.  The gigs attracted thousands of fans and have already raised over £80,000 for the charity.  Talking about the gigs, Crisis CEO, Leslie Morphy said. ‘We are honoured that such a fantastic range of artists performed for us, got behind our campaign and that the fans have now helped raise vital funds. The money raised will now be used to support our front line services, helping homeless people across the UK.   “We will also get our new campaign supporters to help us champion a change in the law to allow everyone who is facing homelessness is entitled to at least short-term accommodation plus help and support they need to get back on their feet
