Katy Perry likes her men minty fresh

katy-perryKaty Perry gets turned off by men with bad breath.  The ‘Hot N Cold’ singer – who is in an on-off relationship with Gym Class Heroes rapper Travis McCoy – would never date a guy who doesn’t keep his mouth clean.  She wrote on her Twitter page: “I mean, ladies, how many times did u think that guy was hot but just couldn’t deal w/ his breathe? Sense of smell is most important! Agree? “Some1 next to me has a bad case of halitosis and won’t stop talking. I can’t breathe. Panic At The Disco talk about split

brendon-urieTHE TWO remaining members of Panic At The Disco have said they will continue the band.  Guitarist Ryan Ross and bassist Jon Walker quit the band earlier this week to pursue individual music projects.  Lead singer Brendon Urie and drummer Spencer Smith said they would continue and confirmed that they are working on new songs, and gearing up to support Blink 182 and No Doubt on tour.  They also paid tribute to their former bandmates, calling them “some of the most talented guys we know”.  Writing on their MySpace page, they said: “Panic At The Disco is alive and very very well. We are working on new songs that we are excited for you to hear.  “Our dates with Blink and No Doubt start in a little less than a month, and we wouldn’t miss those for the world.  “We know everybody has a lot of questions at this point with everything being so out of the blue, most of those should be answered in the coming weeks. We appreciate every one of you, and hope you continue with us on this incredible ride.”  They then asked fans to keep their eyes peeled, as “we have a surprise in store for you”.

Paramore preps ‘brand new’ release

paramoreParamore is preparing to release its third album, “brand new eyes” on Sept. 29 via Fueled By Ramen. The Nashville group – who sounds nothing like Nasheville — tapped superstar producer Rob Cavallo (Green Day, Kid Rock, My Chemical Romance) to man the decks.  The set’s first single “Ignorance” will be released to radio at the beginning of next month and will go up for sale on iTunes, Amazon and all other digital stores on July 7. Pre-sales for the record also goes up on July 7 via the band’s website.  “brand new eyes” will be released as a normal CD as well as a doozy of a deluxe version, limited to 15,000, which “includes the album on CD, a 40-page hardcover journal with Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams’ handwritten lyrics and notes on the album, a color vinyl 7″ single with four acoustic songs, a DVD featuring an exclusive making-of documentary (with interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, the ‘Ignorance’ music video and making-the-video footage, plus rare band vignettes from www.paramore.net), a 16-page full-color booklet, an exclusive Paramore poster, five limited edition collectible Paramore photos printed on hardstock paper, and a numbered certificate of authenticity” according to a release from Atlantic. Whoosh.  “brand new eyes” is the follow-up to Paramore’s breakthrough set “RIOT!,” released in 2007. The group gained even more exposure as its track “Decode” was included on the soundtrack to “Twilight.” However, as the band told Billboard, fans shouldn’t expect any Paramore songs on the “New Moon” soundtrack.  “We don’t want to be, like, the vampire house band,” drummer Zac Farro explains. “It was really fun to be a part of that, and great exposure, but I think ‘Twilight’ was it for us. We don’t want to seem like we’re trying to get in every single movie they put out.”  The band has been previewing new material as it has been opening for No Doubt on the road, now through the beginning of August. They are also scheduled to air an “MTV Unplugged” special in September.

Here is the tracklist to “brand new eyes”:

YB Band to Perform in US Rock Fest

yoon-do-hyun-bandYoon Do-hyun Band (YB) has been invited to perform this summer on the Vans Warped Tour, a top American rock festival, Daeum Entertainment announced Monday. This is the first time that a South Korean band will participate in the popular event that mixes rock music and extreme sports. The four-member combo will perform alongside popular American artists such as No Doubt, Limp Bizkit, Eminem, Black Eyed Peas, My Chemical Romance and Green Day. The festival usually runs for two to three months and artists tend to join the tour for a few dates at a time. YB will appear in seven shows in Washington, Oregon and California from Aug. 15 to 23. The appearance on the well-known festival could help launch a longer-term career in the United States for the band, David Choi of Originology, YB’s American agency for the tour, was quoted as saying in a press release. “With the Warped Tour as a starting point we’re looking into various plans,’’ he said, adding that the band may release a single. Front man and vocalist Yoon and his band have eight albums under their belt, and rose to superstardom here with their gigs during the 2002 FIFA Korea-Japan World Cup. The documentary “On the Road, Two’’ followed the band on its 2005 European tour, and created a stir at the Pusan (Busan) International Film Festival. The band plans to shoot another road movie about their experience in the U.S.

Gwen Stefani gets writers’ block

gwen-stefaniGWEN STEFANI has admitted that she is scared she won’t be able to write a song again.  The singer, who has reunited with her band No Doubt after a five-year hiatus to release two solo albums, has revealed she is concerned about her lack of ability to write new material.  No Doubt’s current summer tour will only feature the band’s greatest hits collection due to Stefani’s writer’s block. Speaking to ELLE magazine, she said: “I want so badly to write a record. I want to make every other songwriter jealous. But that’s not happening right now. I might never be able to write another song.  “I always referred to No Doubt as a marriage because that’s what it’s like to be together for so long and to go through what we’ve been through. I can’t really have that relationship with them anymore. My priorities are always going to be my husband and my family now.”

No Doubt nanny tour

nodoubtNo Doubt are competing to see who takes the most nannies on tour.  The ‘Don’t Speak’ hitmakers kick-off their ‘Summer Reunion Tour’ on May 16 and because the majority of the band are parents, they will need extra help.  Lead singer Gwen Stefani said: “I think we’re going to sleep a lot less than we ever have. Normally, you sleep the whole day, which was my favourite part about touring, but that’s a thing of the past. We get to see a lot more of the country, though, because we’re actually leaving the hotel room.”   Drummer Adrian Young added: “We have a bet about the nannies. Who can score the most nannies within the band? We haven’t started it yet, but I’ll make some predictions when we’re off camera.”   Gwen recently revealed she was dreading going on tour as her eldest son Kingston will not be joining her full-time and will instead split his time between Gwen and her husband Gavin Rossdale.  The 39-year-old blonde – who will be accompanied by her eight-month-old boy Zuma – said: “Kingston is going to be hopping back and forth between me and Gavin. Me and Gavin are used to being away from each other. But with Kingston it is going to be a whole different level of pain. It’s going to be really hard.”
