Madonna will embark on a world tour this year. Following her much talked about Super Bowl performance on Sunday, the Queen of Pop’s team officially revealed the dates of the globe-spanning 2012 series of shows this morning. The 52-year-old will play the opening concert in Tel Aviv, Israel, and cover close to 90 dates. ‘Madonna is having a huge party and everyone’s invited! The Madonna 2012 WorldTour begins May 29th 2012 in Tel Aviv, Israel, it was officially announced by Live Nation Entertainment, the tour’s international promoter,’ Madonna’s PR team said in a statement. ‘The shows will include arenas, stadiums and special outdoor sites including the Plains of Abraham in Quebec and a return visit to South America and Australia where she has not performed in 20 years. The tour will stop in 26 European cities including London, Edinburgh, Paris, Milan and Berlin.’ The announcement of the international superstar’s tour follows an extraordinary week for the legendary musician. Not only did she wow with her halftime performance at one of America’s biggest sporting events,
Madonna also release the first single from her highly anticipated upcoming album.
Pop stars Britney Spears and Rihanna tweeted their excitement about Madonna’s new material.
‘Madonna – amazing performance last night! LUV you,’ Britney wrote on her profile.
‘MDNA era>>>>>>>>>>>>>I’m here for it tbh! Madonna referencing herself is the ultimate F**K YOU! Hehehe (sic),’ Rihanna added.
Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet tour in 2008 proved that the music icon still draws in the crowds as she sold out arenas worldwide, grossing a total of $408 million according to Billboard Boxscore.
‘Madonna’s track record as a world class entertainer and touring artist speaks for itself. Her artistry, talent and creative productions get bigger and better with each tour and Madonna 2012 will be no exception. We are thrilled to have her back on the road and know her fans feel the same,’ Arthur Fogel, CEO Live Nation Entertainment Global Touring and Madonna tour promoter, said.

Madonna’s new single will reportedly feature both M.I.A and Nicki Minaj.
The pop icon has apparently lined up some heavy female talent to work with her on her new record.
Sources have told website MadonnaTribe.com that nine tracks for the new album have been completed and the first single will feature both English rapper/singer M.I.A. and hip-hop star Nicki.
Few details have been released about the LP and it is as yet untitled.
However it is known that it will be produced by William Orbit, who worked with Madonna on her hit single Ray of Light and it will have a pop-dance sound.
The album will be released in spring 2012 and will follow her 2008 record Hard Candy.
Australian sister DJ-duo NERVO (Liv and Mim) are also rumoured to be working on the release.
The pair toured with Britney Spears this summer and are well known for writing some of the hottest pop tracks in the business.
So far the dup have penned singles for Ke$ha, David Guetta and Nicole Scherzinger, and they are hoping to add Madonna to the list.
‘t would be amazing. Madonna is iconic,” Liv told MTV News. “It would be an absolute career high! That one, you know, it’s another one we’ll see if the stars align. But she’s expressed interest in a song of ours and she’s working with William Orbit, who’s an incredible producer, and who she’s worked with in the past.’
NERVO have a lot to thank William for. The girls revealed that he pushed their song for them and presented it to the lady herself.
‘He actually was the one who pitched her the song of ours ‘ pitched it to Madonna ‘ and fingers crossed! Now that we’ve spoken about it, of course, it’s not going to happen,’ Liv joked.
Music producer and British deejay Paul Oakenfold says Madonna, who is currently working on her 12th studio album, is “easy” to collaborate with and “works tirelessly in the studio.”
Oakenfold and the singer, who turned 53 on Tuesday, joined forces to create her 2009 “Celebration” single and told altsounds.com that she was anything but a diva to record with.
“Madonna was without doubt one of the best artists I have ever worked with. She had so many fantastic ideas and really took her music seriously.
“You can tell that with Madonna, everything is about the music. She’s a global name but still works tirelessly in the studio, puts on her best possible live gigs and puts 100 percent into everything she does. She’s really grounded too and easy to work with.”
In June, Madonna’s manager Guy Oseary confirmed on Twitter that the singer hadn’t decided which producer she wanted to work with for her new album.
“Madonna goes into the recording studio next month to begin work on new album,” Oseary said. “She has a good idea of which producers she will be working with… lots of questions about what kind of music it will be – stay tuned.”
While it is not confirmed whether the 47-year-old music mixer will reunite with the “Ray of Light” hitmaker on the new project, she beckoned for new collaborators late last year on her Facebook page.
“Its official! I need to move. I need to sweat. I need to make new music! Music I can dance to. I’m on the lookout for the maddest, sickest, most badass people to collaborate with. I’m just saying.”
Oakenfold has opened for Madonna during her “Confessions” tour in 2006 and “Sticky & Sweet” tour in 2008.
Audio-Technica www.eu.audio-technica.com has announced the final shortlist in its ‘Sound of the Summer’ campaign which set out to identify the nation’s favourite summer tunes.
The competition, which was launched back in June through the company’s social media channels, aimed to get people thinking about their ultimate summer anthems and explaining why they associated them with the sunny season. The nationwide competition captured the country’s imagination and received a huge amount of entries from a wide variety of musical genres.
The competition proved so popular, and difficult to decide, that a final shortlist of the top 20 tracks has now been announced online with Audio-Technica kindly asking the public to vote for their favourite song.
Audio-Technica’s senior marketing manager, Harvey Roberts commented: ‘We all love the summer and we were genuinely interested to find out which was the nation’s favourite summer anthem. I particularly wanted to engage music fans in a fun competition where they could tell us what they liked and why, and some of the music suggestions have been truly brilliant and varied. If I’m honest we never expected to receive so many diverse entries, we even received a few well humoured entries about the great British summer weather.’

Madonna’s manager says she’ll head into the studio next month to work on a new album.
Madonna’s manager and Maverick label honcho Guy Oseary says that the Material Girl is sampling new music and preparing to work on a new album.
Responding to a seemingly flip question from a fan on twitter about Mads’ plans, he tweeted, ‘madonna is listening to potential tracks and ideas for the new album.. she is eager to get started… this will happen soon..’
He then specified, ‘Madonna goes into the recording studio next month to begin work on new album…’
Oseary also alluded to inevitable tour following the album. He was the man behind her obscenely successful 2006 ‘Confessions’ and 2008 ‘Sticky & Sweet’ tours.
He also tweeted about negotiations with Warner Bros regarding Madonna’s older material and DVDs since she’s now signed a massive 360 deal with Live Nation.
Madonna’s romance with dancer Brahim Zaibat is still going strong, it has been claimed.
Last month it was reported the 52-year-old singer had called time on the relationship after they clashed over their religious beliefs. However, it now appears the pair have resolved their differences after they were seen together at a New York restaurant. Madonna and French break dancer Brahim were spotted laughing and joking at Miss Lily’s eatery in Greenwich Village on Monday, before leaving together.
“They came together and drank champagne,” a source told New York Post. “They stayed for a long time and left together pretty late.”
Madonna met 24-year-old Brahmin in New York last year when she was launching her Material Girl clothing collection with her teenage daughter Lourdes. Brahim had been hired to dance at the event and the pair hit it off immediately.
The hunk has previously spoken about the romance and insisted that despite being a global superstar, Madonna is very down to earth.
‘She’s just a woman like all the others. She’s an extraordinary artist and world famous, of course, but a woman above all,’ he said.
The 52-year-old superstar has teamed up with Lourdes, 14, on the song ‘It’s So Cool’ and it is set to either feature on her next album or on the soundtrack LP to her directorial debut movie ‘W.E.’. Madonna hopes the collaboration will be the springboard which launches Lourdes on the path to pop success.
A source told The Sun newspaper: ‘Madonna hopes Lourdes will step into her shoes and become one of the biggest female artists in the world. She is the perfect mentor for her daughter and is keen to assist her first steps into the music industry.’
And it seems the teenager shares her famous mother’s talent for singing and has also inherited her outgoing personality.
The source added: ‘Lourdes has a great voice and plenty of character like her mother.’
Madonna and Lourdes first record the song acoustically together eight years ago in 2003, and it was then reworked as a pop track and released via iTunes as a bonus track for the ‘Hung Up’ singer’s 2009 greatest hits LP ‘Celebration’.
However, Lourdes’ parts were removed from that version.
The track is not the first collaboration between mother and daughter.
Last year, the pair teamed up to launch teen clothing range Material Girl, which consists of clothes, footwear, handbags, jewellery and various accessories.
Beyonce made foes, not fans at the red carpet of this year’s Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. With hubby Jay-Z in tow, the diva and the rapper/mogul found themselves getting booed by photographers.
Beyonce and Jay-Z made their entrance on the red carpet at the event, which also included appearances from Madonna, Fergie, and Jennifer Lopez. But they failed to pose long enough for the photogs to get decent some decent shots.
So the photographers started booing. New York Fashion Magazine’s fashion blog The Cut reported it first, tweeting, “OMG Beyonce and Jay-Z are being BOOED at the #MetGala for not posing for pictures! Yes, boo!”
A video of the incident has already made its way online, showing photographers angrily booing, and another even asking, “What are you doing?”
Beyonce was wearing a Pucci gown with gold detailing, and, to add insult to ego injury, couldn’t seem to walk much in the form-fitting dress. “Beyonce’s Pucci dress was so tight she could barely walk up the stairs as she failed to stop for the photographers. #MetGala”,” The Cut tweeted.
Her sister, Solange Knowles, followed, and photographers decided to protest Beyonce’s snub by not snapping pictures of her less-famous sister. “Don’t shoot her. She can tell her sister,” photogs reportedly shouted.
Beyonce might need to step out in front of the cameras more often. Her new single, “Run the World (Girls),” is all the way down to #51 on iTunes.
The ‘Tourist’ actress – who raises six children Maddox, nine, Pax, seven, Zahara, six, Shiloh, four and two-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne with actor Brad Pitt – has reportedly signed a high profile, print-only deal with the French brand.
According to E! News, the deal would see Angelina earn “close to $6 million” for the modelling contract.
The 35-year-old beauty – who has recently launched a jewellery line – would be following in the footsteps of Madonna and Jennifer Lopez, who have both modelled for Louis Vuitton in the past.
Angelina has previously revealed she loves letting her children dress however they want, and defended her daughter Shiloh who is often pictured wearing boy’s clothes.
She said: “Children should be allowed to express themselves in whatever way they wish without anybody judging them because it is an important part of their growth.
“I think Shiloh is fascinating, the choices she is making. And I would never be the kind of parent to force somebody to be something they are not. I think that is just bad parenting.”
Lady Gaga was “f***ing shell shocked” by comparisons between ‘Born This Way’ and Madonna’s ‘Express Yourself’. The singer was surprised and upset people would compare the lead single from her new album – which has been a huge international hit – with Madonna’s 1989 track, and she can see no similarities herself.
She told NME magazine: “I was f***ing shell shocked by it. If you put the songs next to each other, side by side, the only similarities are the chord progression. It’s the same one which has been in disco music for the last 50 years.
“Just because I’m the first artist in 25 years to think of putting it on Top 40 radio doesn’t mean I’m a plagiarist, it means I’m f***ing smart. Sorry.”
Gaga also feels the message of the song – which has been hailed a gay anthem – came to her from God, and people are always looking to criticise her just because she has become so famous.
She added: “I feel like, honestly, that God sent me those lyrics and that melody. When you feel a message to give to the world and people are shooting arrows through it – there’s no way for something that pure to be wrong.”
Gaga’s next single, ‘Judas’ is out now.
