Kylie Minogue To Perform On Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. We just got a lot more thankful for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Pop princess Kylie Minogue has just been added to line-up. While some of us will be singing “Get Outta My Way” at the food line, Minogue will be performing one of her hits off her new album “Aphrodite” in the streets of Manhattan. She’ll be on the new Homewood Suites by Hilton “On the Roll Again” float, which sees her surrounded by wooden pull toys and a family of ducks. Maybe a performance of the “Locomotion” would add to the nuttiness. Kylie joins an impressive and especially random group of performers this year, including Kanye West, Mannheim Steamroller, Jimmy Fallon & the Roots, Jessica Simpson, Big Time Rush, Juanes, and India Arie with Dora the Explorer. The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade performance will air between 9am and 12pm EST. While she’s in the states, she’s also set to unleash some North American tour dates very soon, following her ultra-successful stateside tour in 2008.
“Top Chef” Teams Up With Godiva For Chocolate Gift Box. Just like Gayle Simmons promised on Wednesday night’s episode of “Top Chef: Just Desserts,” fans of the show (or at least of unique chocolate creations) can now get a taste of the show thanks to Godiva. The winning desserts of Wednesday night’s Quickfire challenge, where contestants had to create four different chocolates inspired by their own story for a Godiva gift box, are now on sale. In this box of chocolates, you do know what you’re gonna get. The limited edition “Top Chef Chocolate Gift Box” includes two pieces each of Acai Berry, Passion Fruit, Green Tea, and Chocolate Mendiant. The Acai Berry includes dark chocolate ganache layered with acai, rose and berry ganache inside a white chocolate shell, Passion Fruit mixes white chocolate and passion fruit ganache in a white chocolate shell, Green Tea has a tea mousse center in a white chocolate shell, and Chocolate Mendiant is dark chocolate topped with bits of dried apricot, tart cherry, and sea salt. Chef Morgan Wilson’s winning variations, inspired by milestones in his life, included odes to his son, marriage, and even his “Top Chef: Just Desserts” journey. The 37-year-old Executive Pastry Chef at The Ritz-Carlton in Dallas is only one of three remaining contestants on the show. The 8 pieces of chocolate in the “Top Chef Chocolate Gift Box” will run $20, or about an average of $2.50 a bonbon. They’re available for purchase online and at Godiva stores nationwide, as well as some Macy’s and Barnes & Noble stores. Meanwhile, things are heating up in the “Top Chef: Just Desserts” kitchens with only three contestants remaining. The season finale airs next week, while “Top Chef” returns for its eighth season December 1st on Bravo.

Beyonce has no problem scoring hits on the charts (her latest, a collaboration with Lady Gaga, is currently climbing up the Top 10), and now the singer’s success is translating into major perfume sales. Her first fragrance, “Heat,” is officially yet another hit for the music star. Beyonce’s perfume only debuted in stores in last month. At the recent Retail & Luxury Goods Conference at Harvard Business School, Macy’s CEO Terry Lundgren revealed that its already made more than $3 million in worldwide sales since its launch. “Heat” was heralded in by an in-store signing and meet and greet with Beyonce at the Macy’s in Herald Square in New York. Lundgren said that 72,000 bottles of her perfume were sold that in that hour. “Heat” blends a floral mix of magnolias, neroli, and red vanilla orchids with the scent of almond macaroon, honeysuckle, nectar, and crème de musk. Beyonce told WWD that this was the first time she had creative control on a fragrance (she was previously the face of a Tommy Hilfiger scent) and its all her. “Everything, from the bottle design to the name and the ideas for the commercials — that’s me,” she said. “This was my first fragrance, and I wanted to make sure that it was something I would love forever.” With demand as high as it is, Beyonce might have to add some more heat to the production line. Trying to pick up a bottle of “Heat” at Macy’s.com estimates over a month before it ships. Ouch. So while fans hopefully aren’t in a hurry to smell like their favorite pop star, she’s helping heat up the celebrity perfume market on her own.
