Kanye West Cancels “Today Show” Performance. Kanye West has been on Twitter quite a bit lately. First, to denounce Matt Lauer and NBC’s “The Today Show” after a recent appearance. Now, he announced that he’s canceling his “Today Show” performance originally scheduled for later this month. West was slated to take the stage on Friday, November 26th to perform tracks from his upcoming new album, “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.” He’s still scheduled to perform the day before during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. But after his much-discussed “Today Show” appearance, where West expressed his frustration with the show for playing audio of his infamous Taylor Swift speech interruption during his interview, he pulled the plug on what was to be a “live concert on the plaza.” “I’m not performing on the Today Show for obvious reasons,” Kanye tweeted. “I’m so happy the world got to see just a small piece of ‘the set up.’…I blatantly said I’m not performing on a tweet and to everyone around me and the next day they still announced a performance. “Do you guys see what I’m saying now?” he continued. Sounds like “Paranoid” isn’t just a song off “808s & Heartbreaks.” But Kanye insists he isn’t angry at Lauer or the show. “I don’t hate Matt Lauer,” he added. “We don’t promote hate. That’s the whole point!!! I promote love and truth!”…All positive energy… all smiles.”
MTV Cancels Reality Show “The City”. It looks like Whitney Port is out of a job. The former “The Hills” reality star who made waves with her spin-off in “The City,” has been canceled by MTV. A spokesperson for the Music channel says: “’The City’ will not be returning to MTV for season three.” “Whitney has been a part of our family for many years and we wish her and the cast the best, and hope to collaborate with them again.” The announcement doesn’t come as a surprise for Port, as she herself hinted that the show would end during an interview with Ryan Seacrest on his radio show. “As of right now it doesn’t really look like we’re doing it anymore,” she said. “The City” followed Port as she moved from the west coast to New York City in pursuit of a fashion career while in the big city. This doesn’t look like it’s the end of Port’s career in the fashion world, though. She told Seacrest, “It’s OK – one door closes and another opens,” adding that she has several new projects lined up for the future as well

Sally Field Opens Up About Her Life As An Empty Nester On “The Nate Berkus Show” Academy Award-winning actress Sally Field has opened up to interior designer Nate Berkus about her life as an empty nester. The “Brothers and Sisters” star also talked about why Jamie Lee Curtis won’t be able to help her with organizing her home. On Monday’s episode of “The Nate Berkus Show,” Field, 63, said that her home design style is very much like “Sybil at work,” referring to her Emmy Award-winning role in the 1976 made-for-television miniseries “Sybil.” She also opened up about her new role as an empty-nester after her kids left the house. She told Berkus, “Empty nesters, what happens is the kids go and you are the receptacle [of all the crap].” “‘Mother you didn’t throw my sports equipment away did you?’ I don’t want your sports equipment. I haven’t wanted it for years and years and years! I just don’t want it.” When Berkus suggested that she needs Jamie Lee Curtis to come over to her house because the other actress is a “terror with organization,” Field replied, “Well she doesn’t care about any of my stuff!” “Jamie Lee is down to wearing like one color, isn’t she? And she has one hair-do for the rest of her life. And I love her for it! I admire her for it! Every day I look at myself and say, I’ve got to change.” Field’s interview with Berkus will air on Monday’s episode.
Manolo Blahnik Shows Off Sketching Skills On “The Martha Stewart” Show. Manolo Blahnik, shoe designer of “Sex and the City” fame, was mentioned – and appeared – on another TV show. The founder of his self-named, high-end shoe brand was a guest on “The Martha Stewart Show” last Friday. Blahnik reportedly hates the term “muse,” but it seemed as though host Martha Stewart was his on the show. He demonstrated his design process of sketching a one-of-a-kind shoe in front of a live studio audience on canvas with paint. After the spontaneous sketch, Stewart asked him what the inspiration was behind the sketch of a brown high heel. “You. And the show and food,” he said. Blahnik’s food inspiration came in the form of the milkshakes Stewart and he made, reportedly an obsession of Blahnik’s, when he and Martha created two different shakes, Coconut-Chocolate and Salted Caramel Pecan. The shoe designer also talked about growing up and how he got his start in the shoe business. He started sketching shoes when he was about six or seven years old, he told Stewart, and his mother also made her own shoes. “During the war, my mommy didn’t get the things that she liked so she made herself (espadrilles),” Blahnik said.”So she was very, very sort of crafty in that way.” He also told Stewart the engineering behind making his shoes. “(Engineering) takes a long time. Shoes are different than dresses in a sense that shoes takes a lot of months to do technically. To get the heel correct.” “I can imagine,” Stewart responded. “Just figuring out how the heel can bear the weight of a 130-pound woman, right? It’s amazing.”
“Supernanny” Premiere Takes On The Show’s Most Troubled Teen. “Supernanny” on ABC premieres on Friday, Nov. 5, and apparently, it features one of the most troubled teens the show has ever seen. A blended family in Glen Ellyn, IL, don’t know how to handle their children, especially the oldest teenager. The Atkinson family sounds like it has potential to be a happy family that lives ever after – Jennifer and John Atkinson married four years ago, blending together Jennifer’s daughters from a previous marriage, Amanda, 14, and Abbey, 13, and John shares custody of his 10-year-old daughter Julia. The couple have two children of their own, Reese, 4, and Maeve, 2 and 1/2. But there are definitely some troubles within the family – the oldest, Amanda, treats Jennifer terribly. She openly defies her and even goes so far as to tell her mother she wishes she was dead. In addition, little Reese has tremendous separation anxiety whenever John leaves the house. She actually endangers herself by running towards the street after him when he leaves the house. Supernanny Jo observes that the parents are coddling the children, being inconsistent about rules and parenting the children differently from each other. This episode kicks off the seventh season of “Supernanny,” and hopefully, it will end like other episodes of the show – with well-behaved children and less anxious and stressed parents
Longtime Conan O’Brien Sidekick Andy Richter Joining New TBS Show. Conan O’Brien’s return to late night will bring another familiar face. Longtime sidekick Andy Richter has joined forces with Coco for his upcoming TBS late night show. Richter had been with O’Brien since his “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” premiered in 1993 until 2000. He was also in “The Tonight Show” when O’Brien briefly hosted the show, and on the road show “The Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television” tour. And now that his pal is transferring to the cable channel, Richter is officially joining him on “Conan.” He said, “I’m thrilled to be going back to work with Conan, and very excited to start a whole new venture on TBS. However, I am mostly looking forward to getting out of the house again.” O’Brien added, “This decision was made without my authority. I will get to the bottom of this.” “Conan” will premiere on TBZ on November 8 at 11 p.m.
‘Atlanta’ Housewife From Connecticut, Where She Shook Things Up, Too. If one of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” doesn’t have much of a Southern accent, it’s because she’s from Connecticut. Kimberleigh Zolciak, a blonde bombshell and standout on the show that started its third season Monday on Bravo, grew up in Windsor Locks, though she was born in Pensacola, Fla., into a military family. “I have a ton of friends up there,” Zolciak said in a conference call last week. “I haven’t been up there for a long time, though my ex-husband went back up there after we got divorced. I loved the casino and the beach. I had a great childhood up there.” A 1996 graduate of East Catholic High School in Manchester, she attended nursing school at the University of Connecticut before moving down to Atlanta when she was 21. ”My parents moved down here,” she said to our source, so she headed down to Atlanta as well, where she eventually settled in one of the most exclusive areas in Georgia, Johns Creek. Although the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” originally was intended to concentrate on a handful of affluent African-American women, Zolciak was spotted by producers, who put her in the show. “What I really miss [about Connecticut] is doing all those different things you can do by driving a little way: You can go to Boston, go to Newport, go to the casinos, go to the beaches or go ski in Vermont or Maine.” On “Real Housewives,” she has distinguished herself with her wigs, her occasional catfights with other women, releasing a couple of odd dance singles, and her longtime patronage by Big Daddy, a shadowy and very rich married man, who was never seen or named on the show. She did all of this while raising two daughters, Brielle and Ariana. By now, she’s dropped Big Daddy for a brief affair with a young woman, before starting to go out with a young defensive end on the Atlanta Falcons, Kroy Biermann, things you’d know if you were a faithful reader of the tabloid magazines. Lately, she’s had a lot to say about a recent boob job. Also, today she is to release a new single online, “Google Me,” to follow last year’s “Tardy for the Party,” which reached No. 3 on the iTunes dance-music chart. “I didn’t want to do ‘Tardy for the Party,’” Zolciak says. It was a song that was prepared for her when she went to the house of another “Housewife” on the show, Kandi Burrell. But after the success and touring she did with that single, she says, “I’m a lot more confident, more secure with what I was doing. And I know what I’m doing.” “Music is my passion,” Zolciak says. “And I don’t know if I’d have the chance to do it if I weren’t on the show. There are good and bad things about being on show like this, but that is one of the good ones.” One of the downsides is all the interest in her personal life. Yes, she dated a woman. “I have no regrets at the end of the day,” Zolciak says. “We connected on a personal level. So there it is.” And yes, she is dating a 25-year-young football player. “He just turned 25,” she says. “People keep calling me a cougar, but I’m 32 and he’s 25. I’ve never ever, ever dated somebody younger than me. I mean, my ex-husband’s five years older, so I really didn’t know his age, nor did I care. But we just have a great connection.” Biermann doesn’t like being a character on “Real Housewives,” Zolciak says. “Honey, he hates it. He hates the publicity. He’s from Montana, and he doesn’t do press.” And his team isn’t that crazy about it either: “The Falcons want it to be about the Falcons, not about Kim attending practice, or Kim attending a game.” Zolciak is used to being in the headlines, even when she was a teenager. At 17, she had a high-profile affair with a 49-year-old police sergeant in Windsor Locks, who had interviewed her when she was a material witness in a criminal investigation. According to reports in The Courant at the time, it led to a 45-day suspension of the sergeant, who retired two years later. But the news of the affair kicked off a scandal involving sexual misbehavior, cover-ups and internal tape recordings at the Windsor Locks Police Department. “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” runs Mondays at 10 p.m. on Bravo

Warner Brothers has released two of its top shows’ seasons on Blu-ray and DVD: “Fringe” and “Top Gear.” Rolling Stone calls “Fringe” the “most exciting drama around right now.” Perhaps that’s because in the world of “Fringe,” there are alternate worlds, and a plethora of characters, including shape shifters, cryonic heads, and people who can turn into ashes at the snap of a finger.
