Britney Spears invites Prince William and Kate Middleton to her “Femme Fatale “concert

Britney Spears is set to take her “Femme Fatale” show to London’s O2 Arena next month and, while there, she would love to have the royal seal of approval. She hopes to perform for Prince William and Kate Middleton and is inviting them to one of her shows. Spears tells Glamour UK, which she covers this month, how cool she considers the possibility of having the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in attendance at her show, which has had celebrity attendees such as Lady Gaga and the Kardashians.

“That would be amazing. That would be really crazy and cool,” Spears said. “I think they’re a beautiful couple. Unfortunately I didn’t get to watch the wedding but I heard it was beautiful.”

The princess of pop had her chance at being real royalty. She was Prince William’s teenage crush. She says she finds it “hilarious” and “had no idea” that she was once the object of his puppy love.

Spears continues her “Femme Fatale Tour” later this month, kicking off the second leg in Russia on Sept. 22. She finally hits England at the end of October for a few shows before she does another full leg in South America.

The talk show host discovered through a genealogical society that she is a distant cousin of the future princess and still has her fingers crossed for a last-minute invitation to her wedding to Prince William.

In an interview with Terri Seymour for ‘Extra’, she said: “We’re 15th cousins, yeah, it’s not like we’re 20th or something … we’re 15th.

“It’s not too late, Terri. I’m not counting anything out. That’s not how I got to where I am, by being a glass-half-empty kind of person. I mean, there could be a phone call.

“I have a beautiful outfit picked out, and a hat.”

Although she may not be invited to the nuptials, Ellen is hopeful she can use her family connections to secure an interview with Kate.

She said: “There will be a time when Oprah’s not gonna be around next year. Who will be around to help her when she needs something? Me.”

Ellen – who is married to actress Portia de Rossi is not the only American celebrity desperate to attend Kate and William’s nuptials at London’s Westminster Abbey.

Reese Witherspoon – who recently wed Hollywood agent Jim Toth – admitted she would have given anything to get an invite.

She said: “I can’t even contain my enthusiasm for the royal wedding! I’m kind of bummed I’m not invited to the royal wedding. My girlfriend asked me if I was invited. Well, no, but I invited them to my wedding!”

Celebrities fortunate enough to be invited include David Beckham and his wife Victoria, Sir Elton John and his husband David Furnish, Guy Ritchie and Joss Stone.

The Girls Aloud singer is disappointed not to have received an invitation to the nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton today (29.04.11), but is making up for it by throwing a bash to watch the ceremony with her family and friends. She said: ‘Royal wedding fever has hit ‘ I’m so excited! I have met Prince Charles a few times so it’s a shame I didn’t get an invite ‘ I’ll have to settle for watching it at home. I’ve been nominated to hold a party and I’ve got a magnum of champagne to crack open.’

Kimberley is particularly excited to see what the bride will wear, as details of her gown have been kept under wraps until now.

She added: ‘ can’t wait to see what style of dress Kate goes for ‘ I’d like to see something feminine and classic but nothing too simple. I want to see a mammoth train!’

Since Girls Aloud went on hiatus, Kimberley has undertaken some presenting work and she admits she would have liked to have been asked to work on the royal wedding ‘ though there is one advantage to not being involved.

She said: ‘ would have loved to have covered the royal wedding. It would have been a great gig and a great chance to be nosy, but it would have stressed me out figuring out what to wear ‘ the pressure would be immense!’

Ellie Goulding will perform at the wedding reception of Prince William and Kate Middleton tomorrow (29.04.11). The royal couple will tie the knot at Westminster Abbey in London followed by a meal hosted by Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace and the ‘Starry Eyed’ singer has been invited to provide the after-dinner entertainment at an intimate gathering for 300 people hosted by William’s father Prince Charles.

William and Kate reportedly chose the pop star because they believe her music will appeal to guests of all ages.

A source said: ‘William and Kate are huge fans of Ellie and were keen to sign her up.

‘Her music goes down well with the young ones, plus a few of the older guests will be nodding their heads along.

‘They really wanted a top British talent and the couple are delighted Ellie agreed to perform. She can’t wait, although she’s a tad nervous.’

William, 28 and Kate, 29, hope Ellie will serenade them with her cover of ‘Your Song’ by Sir Elton John ‘ who will attend the nuptials with his partner David Furnish ‘ and the excited singer is said to be ‘honoured’ with the invitation.

An insider told the Daily Mail newspaper: ‘Ellie was knocked off her feet when she received the invitation to perform for Prince William and Kate ‘ and was so hugely honoured when they said they were both big fans of her music.

‘She still can’t quite believe that she will perform for the royal newlyweds, all the young royal guests and their friends, it hasn’t sunk in yet.’

Ellie, 24, will be accompanied by her boyfriend, DJ Greg James.

Morrissey has labelled the British Royal Family ‘benefit scroungers’

Morrissey has labelled the British Royal Family “benefit scroungers” ahead of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding on Friday (29.04.11).  While the ceremony at London’s Westminster Abbey will be attended by 1,900 guests and is expected to be watched by a worldwide audience of two billion, the former Smiths singer won’t be among the viewers as he believes Queen Elizabeth and her family don’t “serve any purpose”.

The ‘Queen Is Dead’ singer – who is famously against the UK monarchy – said: “Why would I watch the wedding? Why would I watch it? I couldn’t take any of that seriously.

“I don’t think the so-called royal family speak for England now and I don’t think England needs them. I do seriously believe that they are benefit scroungers and nothing else. I don’t believe they serve any purpose whatsoever.”

Morrissey – real name Steven Patrick Morrissey – also claimed his view is shared by many of his countrymen and says he won’t be the only person not celebrating when Kate and William tie the knot.

In an interview on station BBC – Radio 5 Live, he added: “Go out now and speak to people on the street and they will laugh at you. They really will.”

While the 51-year-old singer won’t be watching the nuptials, a number of celebrities have been invited including Sir Elton John and his husband David Furnish, David Beckham and his wife Victoria, Guy Ritchie, Joss Stone and comic actor Rowan Atkinson.

Sir Elton John admires Kate Middleton for ‘going through’ with her marriage to Prince William

The ‘Rocket Man’ singer will attend the couple’s nuptials at Westminster Abbey in London on Friday (29.04.11) and although Elton believes the prince’s mother Diana ‘ who died in a Paris car crash in 1997 ‘ would love the bride, he admitted Kate and William are in for a ‘bumpy ride’.

He said: “I hope everyone celebrates for them, whether they agree with the monarchy or not. It’s about two people falling in love and getting into a situation, for her especially, where it’s going to be the most difficult life. I mean, let’s face it, we know what that kind of marriage entails, and the press never leave you alone, the courtiers … I admire her for going through with it.

“I’ve only met William and Harry twice . but I’m very glad to be invited because I think it’s going to be a very joyous day and I think [Diana] would be very happy with his choice, [Kate] seems such a great girl and they seem so much in love.”

Elton performed at the funeral of Princess Diana in Westminster Abbey in 1997 and he believes William’s choice to hold his wedding at the same venue is the most ‘joyous result’.

In an interview with on ‘Good Morning America’ with Barbara Walters, he said: ‘My heart sank when I saw those two boys walking behind the coffin. I thought that was the hardest thing, I can’t imagine at that young age having to walk in the public, following your mother’s coffin. And the next time we’re in the Abbey it’s to see him walking up the aisle with a beautiful woman, the love of his life, I think it’s the most joyous result and I’m sure Diana would be very, very happy about it.”

Justin Bieber, Chris Colfer, and, of course, Oprah have made it to Time’s 100 Most Influential list for this year. The celebs join figures in politics and other media, including Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Nicolas Sarkozy, Prince William and Kate Middleton, and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

Bieber, whose tween followers are some of the most loyal fans on the Internet, was “born a star,” according to his mentor Usher.

The Grammy-winning recording artist said of his 17-year-old protégé: “What’s interesting and will keep the world watching is that at the same time he’s having this incredible success, he’s like any other kid living a normal life.”

For Chris Colfer, he said he has wanted to be an actor “since I was an embryo,” according to his “Glee” co-star Dianna Agron, who wrote:

“Chris, 20, lives by extreme truth, speaking out against the epidemic of bullying that he, too, faced in high school. The honesty that he infuses into his Glee character, Kurt, leaves you reeling. Our cast is blessed to hear things like ‘Your character has helped me through this, or helped me do that,’ but none more so than Chris.”

“To witness the power he gives to his audience firsthand? It’s wonderful.”

Joining them in the list are fashion designer Tom Ford, “Alice in Wonderland” star Mia Wasikowska, “Gossip Girl” actress Blake Lively, “Parks and Recreation” star Amy Poehler, Matt Damon and Gary White, South Korean pop star Rain, music icon Sting, Grammy winner Bruno Mars, and Oscar winner Colin Firth.

Kate Middleton named 3rd most beautiful royal in survey

Kate Middleton

Kate Middleton

Kate Middleton isn’t a princess yet, but she has already been named the third most beautiful royal, even beating future husband Prince William’s mom, Diana. The princess in waiting is just below Princess Grace of Monaco and Queen Rania of Jordan in beauty, according to a new survey.

BeautifulPeople.com conducted the survey, garnering 127,000 votes from all over the world. It randomly generated pictures of royals and allows users to vote on whether they think they are beautifu or not.

Kate, 29, a commoner until her marriage to William on April 29, ranked third, behind only Academy Award-winning actress-turned-royalty Grace Kelly, who married Prince of Monaco Rainier III; and Queen Rania of Jordan.

Princess Grace’s position at the top spot is unsurprising, according to Greg Hodge, managing director of the site, because she’s simply “iconic and remains so” even after her death almost three decades later.

But that Kate has surpassed the late Princess Diana, who was voted at fourth place, is a “big surprise.”

Hodge was quoted by the New York Post as saying, “Unlike Diana, who grew into her role, Kate Middleton comes in very fashion-forward. She’s living this fairy tale, and is about to become the most famous princess in the world.”

Princess Charlotte of Monaco, Princess Grace’s granddaughter, rounds up the top 5 list.

Princess Gayatri Devi, Princess Madeline of Sweden, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, Princess Margaret, and Princess Masako of Japan make up the lower five in the Beautiful People list respectively.

For the men, Kate’s fiancé, Prince William, is at fifth place, behind his brother Prince Harry. Their father, Prince Charles, is at tenth.

Hodge said, “Harry is known to have the cheeky jet-set playboy within him. That probably resonated with voters along with the fact that he’s still a bachelor.”

Prince Carl Philip of Sweden is at first place, followed by Prince Andrea of Monaco and Prince Frederick of Denmark.

Prince Philippos of Greece, Crown Prince of Spain Felipe de Borbon, Prince Guillaume of Luxembourg, and Prince Albert of Monaco are at sixth to ninth place.

Unfortunately for William and Harry’s stepmother, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, holds a place in the Ugliest Royals in History list. Their cousins, Princess Eugenie of York and Princess Beatrice of York, as well as their parents Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, also made the list.

Hodge added, “The British royals are typically very horsey-looking. Diana certainly improved the gene pool, and we hope that Kate will do the same.”

The fictional Princess Fiona from “Shrek” films and the Queen of Hearts in the animated “Alice in Wonderland” are also included in the unflattering list.

Michael Buble’s home was broken into while he was getting married. The ‘Haven’t Met You Yet’ singer married Argentinean actress Luisana Lopilato in Buenos Aires last month but as they exchanged vows, burglars were targeting their nearby home.

According to gossip website TMZ, the criminals disabled the couple’s alarm system and covered up their security cameras, although it is not known what they took or much damage they caused.

After learning of the burglary, Luisana told local reporters: “I will not let this ruin the happiest day of my life.”

As well as their nuptials in Argentina ‘ which started on Thursday (31.03.11) and carried on over the weekend – Canadian-born Michael recently announced plans to host a second wedding in Vancouver.

He said: “We are doing one in Argentina and that’s for her close family, and then we are doing one in Vancouver.”

However, the 35-year-old star – who previously dated actress Emily Blunt – joked the pair had originally planned on tying the knot on April 29, but was concerned the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton would overshadow his nuptials.

Michael explained: “I was going to do it on the 29th but I figured I wouldn’t get any press.”
