Interpol

Interpol, The Kooks, White Lies and You Me At Six for Coke Live Music Festival 2011

The Kooks,

The Kooks,

Though we still remember the great Coke Live Festival 2010 gigs, it’s time to introduce part of this year’s lineup. We are pleased to announce that the 6th edition of the Coke Live Music Festival will take place in the Aviation Museum ground in Krakow on the 19th and 20th of August 2011. Today’s announcement is a full Main Stage line-up for the first festival day.

After dark, with their black suits the long-awaited Interpol will appear. This NYC band has a cult status in Poland since the release of the debut album ‘Turn On The Bright Lights’. With their new material, from last year’s self-titled album, and indie-rock-classics such a ‘PDA’ or ‘Slow Hands’ Paul Banks and Co. will thrill the audience at 11 pm.

Two hours earlier on Main Stage will be The Kooks. They are currently recording a follow-up to their Number One UK Album ‘ ‘Konk’. The Kooks, with their pop-folk-indie hymns, will be this, what Coke Live Music Festival fans have been waiting for.

Another band in the line-up is White Lies. Their new album ‘Ritual’ confirms that London-based trio wasn’t one-season star. There is also, no other English team, who within three years conquered the Polish market in such a successful way. White Lies will be performing at 7pm.

You Me At Six playing on the Main Stage will start to perform half an hour earlier, than the band’s name suggest. They released two good-received albums and now working on a third. Group will come to Poland for the very first time and their performance at Coke Live Music Festival will be a perfect chance to listen to the new songs.

Interpol to release new single 'Lights'

Interpol release their new single ‘Lights’ on March 21st 2011, through Soft Limit / Co-Operative Music as a digital download only. The third single to be taken from their eponymous fourth album, ‘Lights’ encompasses Daniel Kessler’s distinct guitar tones with the potency of Paul Banks brooding vocals, combining to climax after 5 minutes and 38 seconds of eerie intensity. The accompanying video ‘ directed by visual artist Charlie White ‘ exploits the relationship between sex and death, and explores the release of pheremones within the uncharted world of the Three-Horned Rhinoceros beetle. Considered the muse throughout the production process, the beetle was the perfect compliment to the dominance of black that constantly surrounds Interpol. The Wombats

The Wombats announce major January tour. The anticipation surrounding the return of The Wombats continues to escalate. Their upcoming single ‘Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves)’ received a glorious global premiere on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 where it was named the Hottest Record In The World and was swiftly followed by the news that their October tour dates sold out almost immediately. ‘Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves)’ has also since been named as Zane Lowe’s Single of the Week. The latest development comes with the confirmation of a full UK and Ireland tour that culminates with a sizeable London date at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo. Renowned as one of the nation’s most incendiary live bands and also confirmed as one of the major attractions at Australia’s touring Parklife festival, The tour’s pre-sell commences on 9am on Wednesday, September 1st from www.the-wombats.co.uk/store before going on general sale from 9am on Friday, September 3rd. The immediately infectious punky hooks that characterised their debut album are firmly in place, but this time around the band have been eager to experiment with more leftfield ideas and a darker lyrical approach.  ‘Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves)’ will be released on September 27th on 14th Floor Records with the band’s second album following towards the end of the year.Following the release of their debut album ‘The Wombats Proudly Present. The Wombats completed two huge sold-out UK tours which included triumphant shows at Brixton Academy, a unique one-off headline show at London’s Royal Albert Hall and a massive homecoming show at the 10,000 capacity Liverpool Echo Arena. They were nominated for Best UK Act at the MTV Europe Awards, and played a plethora of enormous festival appearances including a co-headline set on the NME/Radio 1 stage at Reading and Leeds as well as storming sets at Glastonbury, T in the Park, Isle of Wight and Oxegen.
