Melodic guitar licks of Sander and Kevin, pumping and thrusting bass of Richard, heavy and double bass drums of the extreme talented and young drum player Jeroen (pupil of Cesar Zuiderwijk | Golden Earring and Ernst van Ee | Threnody – Helloïse), form the more than solid base for the warm voice of Simoon.
A live show of Y&D is great to watch, their on stage performance matches any big band’s.
Early January 2008, Y&D recorded their first album, ‘At last… the First’, produced by Serge Naberman (Di-Rect and many more). Six songs were recorded in 2 days, generating great exposure for a young band like Y&D. Regional and national radio paid attention and pronounced a great future for the band.
In April 2008 they won the big national band contest Make More Music. The main price was the complete recording of the second Y&D album, in October 2008. In the summer, lots of new songs are written for this new album.
Performing live is what the band does best. In July Y&D performed at Trailerpop, in October they support Houston from Italy during their Dutch tour. Earlier support act gigs were with artists like Candy Dulfer and Gino Vannelli. For 2009 shows are already booked, international interest is growing.
Y&D’s fan base keeps on growing every day. Their MySpace and Hyves pages prove a great way to keep in touch with the band, and the other way around. Also, check the site for all info and news!
The best way to experience the dudes and dudette of the band is of course one of their amazing live show. One of these days Y&D will be playing a gig somewhere near you. Go see and listen to them. Prepare to be blown away!
In February Y&D is negotiating with an major international record company.
