Where to Find Nightlife in LA

Where to Find Nightlife in LA

Where to Find Nightlife in LA

Where to Find Nightlife in LA . LA the  place where the world’s hottest DJs play, where nightlife’s latest fashions are born and where the celebrity set is always unwinding. Dance clubs, comedy clubs, chilled-out lounges, poolside bars and sports bars. The list of places where you can enjoy some after-dark excitement is endless, and so is the thrill of a night on the town in LA.  Dance Clubs. It seems like there’s a hot new nightclub opening in LA every week. But that doesn’t mean the good ones don’t stick around. A successful dance club takes unique vision, good DJs, experienced promoters and plenty of good PR. At places like LAX (brought back to life by DJ AM) and Mood (where Zen Buddhism meets all-night imbibing), success is evidenced by the sense of accomplishment you’ll feel after getting past the velvet rope. If you’re looking to go sky high, check out Elevate Lounge, where clubbers dance the night away among LA’s tallest skyscrapers.
Level 3, a dance club in the Hollywood & Highland Center has taken sensuality to a new level by decorating its stage with beds and inviting its guest to “lounge.”  Then there’s The Kress, a newly restored modern multi-level entertainment and culinary paradise offering a bar and lounge, restaurant, nightclub and a rooftop Lounge revealing 360 degree views of the Hollywood Hills. Meanwhile, Head to The Mayan for some salsa, meringue and other Latin-style dance rhythms just about every nigh, or visit the always hot Conga Room at L.A. LIVE.    Cocktails.  If dancing isn’t your thing but a good drink is right up your alley, LA’s got you covered. Ready for something swanky? Then Downtown’s Standard Rooftop Bar is the place for you. One of LA’s top places to see and be seen, the rooftop bar provides a quintessential LA experience. Hipsters flock to the Windows Bar and Lounge at the Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills and the swank Whiskey Blue in the W Los Angeles Westwood — two places that defy every negative stereotype of hotel bars. In the Valley, Clear lives up to its moniker with a translucent front door, padded white-leather walls and Plexiglas stools. If Hollywood were to ever produce a sequel to Swingers, Charlie O’s would be the featured pine-paneled watering hole. There is nothing a “tall drink of water” couldn’t love about this discreet hidden gem in Valley Glenn. At Universal CityWalk, the nightlife options are endless, but make sure to stop by the dueling piano bar, Howl at the Moon, and the iconic Hard Rock Cafe.  One of LA’s hippest hotspots has emerged in Downtown. The Edison revives the classic hand-crafted cocktail with an intimate menu of upscale cuisine. In the Financial District, The Library Bar features an encyclopedic and esoteric selection of beers and wines to tempt any connoisseur. Just a short walk away, J Restaurant & Lounge is the ideal spot to hang out on the patio and enjoy a signature cocktail by the fire pit. No matter what you’re in the mood for, you’re sure to find treasure at Redwood Bar & Grill. The hearty burger at the nautical-inspired bar has been voted the best in Downtown. Live Entertainment Los Angeles comes alive at night with live music in every style imaginable. The action is at L.A. LIVE, Downtown LA’s multi-billion dollar entertainment complex. Live shows are always happening at NOKIA Theatre and Club NOKIA, while the GRAMMY Museum’s soundstage features more intimate concerts.  The Knitting Factory on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is the destination for alternative, cutting-edge bands and special events. For big-name entertainment, head to the world-famous House of Blues® on Sunset Strip. Famous bands and local upstarts mix it up with a rock and roll vibe and Southern flair. Check out their incredible Sunday Gospel Brunch for a soulful music experience. A legendary LA Art Deco landmark, The Wiltern, presents an incredibly diverse array of performances from comedy to alternative to jazz to Frank Zappa. The Edison also features live music. Comedy Clubs LA is home to lots of stand-up comedy clubs, including the legendary Laugh Factory, which has served as the launching pad for the careers of famous comedians such as Richard Pryor. On Melrose, The Improv packs in the punch lines and the star power. You never know who may make a guest appearance. Sports Bars You don’t have to be a fan to appreciate the sports bars in LA. After all, what’s better than watching the game on ridiculously large TV screens that make the action seem almost life-size? In Downtown LA, try Casey’s Irish Bar & Grille on Grand Avenue and Grand Avenue Sports Bar in the Millennium Biltmore Hotel for your sports fix. In addition, ESPN Zone and Yard House at L.A. LIVE have both quickly become mainstays in the sports bar scene. Or, for a new twist on an old theme, head to Point Moorea, a tiki-themed sports bar where a 50s and 60s vibe comes alive. If you’re staying by LAX, Champions Sports Bar in the Los Angeles Airport Marriott, Landings & Bistro in the Hilton Los Angeles Airport Hotel and T.H Brewster’s in the Four Points by Sheraton LAX offer a wide variety of food and all the fun you can handle.

Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen shot dead after Cher movie premiere.  Well-known and popular Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen was gunned down in an execution-style shooting on Monday night in Beverly Hills. Chasen had earlier attended the premiere of the new Cher movie ‘Burlesque’ and later attended the after-party with her client, songwriter Dianne Warren, who wrote a song in the movie. Cher and Christina Aguilera were also at the party.  Chasen left the party at the W at around midnight and was heading for her Westwood home. At 12.28am, residents heard gunshots followed by a car crash. The passenger window of her Mercedes was shattered. Chasen was found bleeding. One hour later she was pronounced dead. Police are investigating different scenarios, one being she was a victim of road-rage, another that she was followed by a stalker. Ronni ran the publicity firm Chasen & Co. and specialised in soundtrack composers. Her clients included Howard Shore, John Williams, Hans Zimmer, David Hirshfelder and Mark Isham.

Aishwarya Turns 37, Remains On Top Of Her Game

Aishwarya Turns 37, Remains On Top Of Her Game. She is the one with the beautiful face who continues to flourish in both Bollywood and Hollywood. As she readies for another run at the box office with two big-budget movies lined up, former beauty queen Aishwarya Rai also prepares to celebrate her 37th birthday on Tuesday. One of the most beautiful leading ladies in the Hindi film industry, Rai has come a long way since being crowned Miss World in 1994 and beginning her film career with a lesser-known but critically-acclaimed film, “Iruvar.” She is counted among the most successful actors of her generation. Her face still launches a number of brands every year and her appearances at Cannes year-after-year are as talked about as those of Eva Longoria and Kate Winslet. However, the most significant aspect of her 13-year-long film career remains her metamorphosis into being a “director’s delight.”Her upcoming films, “Guzaarish” with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and “Action Replayy” with Vipul Shah, are totally opposite to each other in terms of the characters she is playing. In the first, she plays a nurse to a paraplegic Hrithik Roshan, a pivotal role when Hrithik begs for mercy killing. In the second, she plays an over-the-top character of a typical Hindi film heroine, who shakes a leg or two and even dons colorful saris while romancing Akshay Kumar in the style of the 1970s. She is a much-reckoned artiste today, who is praised not only for her professional attitude but also for her complete surrender to her directors. However, despite being married into the first family of Hindi filmdom, the Bachchans, led by her father-in-law, Amitabh Bachchan, and having achieved international fame, Aishwarya remains as grounded as ever. Subhash Ghai, who worked with her in 1999 success “Taal,” says that she will still be in the reckoning even 10 years from now. Bhansali calls her the “timeless beauty” and says, quite emphatically, that “she understands me.” Her husband, Abhishek Bachchan, leaves no stone unturned in heaping praise on wife dearie, as he says, “I feel great about Aishwarya’s achievements, I am very proud of her,” he told The Hindu newspaper. “Whatever adulation she has got, she truly deserves it. I’m happy that she broke the notion that women can’t work after marriage.” However, in comparison to her rocking career and life, Aishwarya’s birthday plans remains simple. She told the Times of India, “Time with family is celebration for me, and it’s more than enough.”

The majority of the time I stay in. ‘ got here on my own. I came from a small town and grew up in a regular home. I know what I’ve worked hard for. I’ve seen a lot of people who have gone a little crazy and who are really into the Hollywood scene. I don’t really like to hang out with people like that.’

Mallika Sherawat

Bollywood’s Gutsy Actor Turns Singer In Hollywood. She is known for her gutsy moves both onscreen and off, but now Bollywood actor Mallika Sherawat will be holding a microphone for her singing debut in the Hollywood project ‘Hisss.’ The music for the film has been composed by Beatles’ legend John Lennon’s son Julian Lennon. Sherawat, who spent a year in Los Angeles, shooting for the film and her other assignments, landed in Mumbai recently and announced that she had recorded the song in Los Angeles and it would be released during the film promos, which are to go on air soon. The film also has another song in Mallika’s voice, which has been recorded by German music director Alexander Von Bubenheim, who has, incidentally, also recorded the background music for the film. The film, directed by Jennifer Lynch, tells the story of the legend of Naga and revenge of a snake woman, whose partner is captured by an American hunter. The film would be released in October this year

How to Make it in Hollywood – For Young Aspiring Actors

How to Make it in Hollywood – For Young Aspiring Actors. How to Make it in Hollywood as an actor. Young, fresh faced and new to the Hollywood business can seem overwhelming and intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be if you have the right mindset, talent and tools to guide you. There is no real path for success.  Basically what that means is that people get lucky – they are in the right place at the right time with the right person. Even when a person is fired from a job (an artist  or executive), that firing can open the door for a life-changing opportunity that would not have happened if that person had been still employed. If you’re a fan of HBO’s Entourage, that is a pretty good representation of how things really happen in Hollywood.

So yes, there is no path, but there are certain avenues actors can take to make their chances of movie-stardom greater. In my experience, to cut out the bull, there are 4 ways actors “make it”.

1) Get on to a Hit TV Show – this is where an unknown actor can step off the plane at LAX and walk right into success, but it is like catching lightning in a bottle. Hundreds of pilots are shot every year and very small percentage of those make it television; of that percentage and even smaller percentage make it past their intial order (or first season, usually 6 to 13 episodes), and from there and even smaller percentage go on 3, 4 and 5 years and eventually into syndication. Ashton Kutcher is a perfect example of an unknown actor, getting cast in a pilot, the pilot goes to air on Televsion, the show (That 70′s Show) becomes a minor hit, but a hit nonetheless, and he is all of a sudden the “It Guy”…handsome, funny and famous. The studios want him in their movies and he then begins to command million dollar plus paydays  in studio movies.

2) Get a Supporting but Flashy Role in a Big Studio Movie – this is also where an unknown can walk in an get the role. Usually by this time, the movie star actors are cast, the studio is happy with its pre-sale foreign numbers and they don’t care who fills in the smaller parts as long as the movie gets made on time and on budget. The flashy part usually comes into affect in the editing room. But it can also happen on the set. You, the young actor who got the role, did a great job. The director loves what you did and asks you to come back and do a few more scenes. He then takes it into the editing room and cuts it in a way that makes a big splash on screen. The audience loves you. The buzz is “who is that guy/girl”? Before you know it, you have agents calling you and parts being written for you. You may get a TV deal. You may still have to do some work in the audition rooms, but you are beginning to be a know quantity because of that little part.

3) Get a Co-Starring Role in a Big Studio Movie – this doesn’t happen often because the studios are almost 100% star dependent. They need a star to sell their movie. They need a star to put on the poster and market their movie worldwide. But sometimes, a movie will come along and the star will be cast. There will then be a major co-star role, opposite the star that is open and looking for a new face. This is where you have a shot. If you can get this role and the you shine in the role and the movie performs well, you will be off and running. There are also cases where genre films cast relatively unknown actors and the film performs well; in this case, if you shine, you can be rocketed to stardom. A good example of this is Jessica Biel. She made practically nothing on Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but because of its success, and because she was the hot chick in it, she earned $1 Million on her next movie and many more millions thereafter.

4) Get noticed and advertise on RTV Channel . Send us pressreleases, photo’s, video’s for free publicity.  Remember, the odds are not in your favor, but if you love what you do and are passionate about your art, then go for it and you may be the one to catch that lightning in a bottle.

Leo DiCaprio “Doubtful” He Will Work With Mel Gibson In Latest Project

Leo DiCaprio “Doubtful” He Will Work With Mel Gibson In Latest Project.  It’s no secret that everyone in Hollywood is distancing themselves from Mel Gibson, and now Leonardo DiCaprio is making it known as well. Sources close to the “Inception” star say the actor is doubtful he will star next in a Mel Gibson-directed film about Vikings. Web site imdb.com reports that an Untitled Mel Gibson/Leonardo DiCaprio project is still in development, although no further details are given. Whether a film will pan out of the project remains doubtful, as DiCaprio insiders are saying the “Titanic” star is hesitant to work with Gibson now that he is in a bitter custody battle over his infant daughter with ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, who claims the actor physically abused her on numerous occasions.
According to E! Online, a DiCaprio source says about the project: “No, I doubt Leo would do it, especially after all this,” adding that the actor is personally horrified by the claims that have been made against Gibson.
Another source close to the untitled project says: “There’s not even a script yet. So it’s not real, but it is technically still in the works. Nothing has been settled.” Meanwhile, Gibson has two films coming up soon, including “The Beaver,” in post-production and “How I Spent My Summer Vacation,” which is currently still filming.
