“Harry Potter” star Emma Watson admits to being drunk once in her life

While “Harry Potter” star Daniel Radcliffe has claimed he no longer drinks, his co-star Emma Watson says she’s only been “very, very drunk” once in her life.

The 22-year-old British actress, who appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman” on Monday in New York City, said she got drunk in England after she turned 18.

“Yes I have tried spirits, we drink at 18 in the U.K. but I’m actually legal to drink here now, it’s worth mentioning. I’m 21,” she said. “Yes, yes I have. I got very, very drunk once in my life as everyone does. Fine, I got drunk, I have been drunk – and I’ll bow to that!”

When Letterman asked if she had ever peed on the subway, Watson replied that it has never gotten to that point.

“Thankfully it’s never been that bad,” she said.

But when the late show host asked if she knew about Radcliffe’s drinking on the set of the “Harry Potter” films, Watson replied: “To be honest, it’s rarely not something that I genially know much about. He ‘s the one to talk about it. But as far as I know, he never took a sick day. He was like the most professional, amazing guy.”

Earlier this month, Radcliffe revealed to GQ magazine that his drinking became an issue on the set of 2009’s “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.” Lucky for him, he said the paparazzi were not around.

“I really got away with that because there were many instances when a paparazzi shot like that could have been taken,” he said. “I became so reliant on alcohol to enjoy stuff.”

The actor, who stars in Broadway’s “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” said drinking was an attempt to cope with his early success.

“There were a few years there when I was just so enamored with the idea of living some sort of famous person’s lifestyle that really isn’t suited to me.”

Radcliffe said he’s been sober for almost a year and prefers to be home than attending movie premieres and parties.

“As much as I would love to be a person that goes to parties and has a couple of drinks and has a nice time, that doesn’t work for me,” he said. “I’d just rather sit at home and read, or go out to dinner with someone, or talk to someone I love, or talk to somebody that makes me laugh.”

Radcliffe and Watson star in the final installment of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,” which opens in theatres on July 15.

The pop star was asked to choose between the popular vampire saga and the equally popular Harry Potter series, but struggled to make up his mind.

Justin, whose movie Never Say Never won Best Jaw-dropping Moment at the MTV Movie Awards last night, had to think hard before choosing Twilight.

‘ can’t say!’ he told MTV, ‘But if I had to choose. Twilight over Harry Potter.’

The teen heartthrob also revealed that it felt amazing to share the moment that bagged him the award in his 3D movie.
Never Say Never follows the pop star’s journey to the top and shows some breath-taking scenes of the 17-year-old performing.

‘t felt great,’ he said. ‘Obviously that was my first performance at Madison Square Gardens [in New York] and just to have that experience. it was great.’

'Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows': Three Things We Know About The Saga's Final Scene

When “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” draws to a close, don’t expect the proceedings to end with the battle against He Who Must Not Be Named.

There’s much more to play with in the “Potter” universe beyond the Voldemort conflict. We’re talking, of course, about the epilogue, a sequence where — SPOILER ALERT! — we’re invited to see what happened to the survivors of the war against the Dark Lord in the years that followed the Battle of Hogwarts.

The epilogue is easily one of the most highly anticipated scenes in all of “Deathly Hallows: Part 2,” so when we spoke with “Potter” producers David Barron and David Heyman at CinemaCon in Las Vegas this week, we made sure to ask them about it. After the jump, find out three interesting facts we learned about how the “Harry Potter” saga will come to a close!

The Epilogue Brings Everything Full Circle
“[The epilogue is] about the cycles of life,” Heyman told MTV News. “It’s about Harry, Ron and Hermione taking their children to King’s Cross station to the very place where the story began, to begin the journey that they began many years ago. It’s really beautiful and really tender.”

We’ll See How The Magical Nation Survives A War
“We’re expressing it through our three principle characters, who obviously have had a terrible time in many respects,” said Barron. “Because they have been fighting Voldemort for longer than we can remember, and came close to death, you’ll see the state of the school at the end. It was not an easy battle. As countries, as nations do, as cultures do, they recover and they renew and life carries on. It is about renewal.”

It’s A Short But Sweet Ending
“It’s not long. It’s about two … a couple of minutes,” Barron said of the epilogue’s length. “It’s long enough to tell its story. We like it. We think it works well, and it does leave you feeling a bit [emotional].”

Robert Pattinson Calls ‘Breaking Dawn’ A ‘Horror Movie’

Robert Pattinson Calls 'Breaking Dawn' A 'Horror Movie'

Once we got past the cover of the latest Entertainment Weekly (it took some time…look at him!), we were happy to find that in addition to talking about his latest venture, “Water for Elephants,” the unfathomably fine Robert Pattinson had plenty to say about the end of the—sniff—”Twilight” era.

If fans of the series were at all worried that the undoubtedly bizarre nature of “Breaking Dawn” was going to be toned down for the next two films, RPattz all but put those fears to rest in the EW interview.

“There’s some interesting and weird stuff going on—very, very, very strange,” he said of the final installment, “It’s great. For a big mainstream movie, it’s the most obscure storyline and really outside the box. It’s a horror movie. I’ve seen a few bits, and I just can’t see how it’s going to be PG 13… unless they cut everything out.”

But, it seems like there’s definitely some scenes we’ll be wanting to keep our eyes wide open for. Robert, who said he got back in shape for “Breaking Dawn”‘s numerous shirtless scenes, revealed, “Literally one day after my last shirt-off scene I started being all [mimics eating voraciously] nom, nom, nom. And I didn’t realize I had one more [shirt-off] scene, and you can see it in one of them—I’m clearly [exaggeratedly sucks in his stomach and cheeks].”

And while we’re certainly not ready to let the many variations of shirtless Rob and the franchise go, it seems like he is—terrible pun alert!—ready to sink his teeth into new things. “I literally feel like we’ve been doing it my whole life,” the 24-year-old said with a laugh regarding making the “Twilight” films.

But there’s one aspect in particular Robert is most ready to big adieu to: those piercing contacts he wears in order to play Edward Cullen!

“Those contacts…My God, I’ll be glad to see the last of those,” he said, “I actually want to get some kind of plastic explosive. I want to reanimate them into something so I can kill them. It’s embarrassing for me—after so many years, it’s still a process every single morning. Everybody else has figured out how to do it, and then there’s two people holding me down because I can’t do it myself.” Uh, where do we sign up for that job?

Still, Robert, who will jump right back into “Water for Elephants” press tours as soon as “Breaking Dawn” wraps, wouldn’t necessarily be opposed to starring in another franchise like “Twilight” or “Harry Potter,” but only under certain conditions.

“I would [do another],” he said, “But I’d want to have more input. The only horrible thing about being part of a franchise..well, not horrible..no, it is horrible…is that the bigger and bigger you get, it’s quite difficult to break out of stuff. When you’ve been playing the same part, you can’t suddenly start playing it differently. It takes away a little bit of the creative kind of..urge.”

But before Robert, who is also in the midst on working on diverse projects such as “Bel Ami” and “Cosmopolis,” thinks about taking on another big screen adaptation, it seems like he’s got his sights set on an even riskier venture: comedy!

While he joked that his “agents will never let me do them,” the actor, who said he’s read a few comedic scripts, still seems ready to take on the opportunities if they were to come his way. “Comedy is scary,” he admitted, later adding, “That’s why I kind of wanted to do it. I think that’s the only way to do it: You gotta be like, “Okay, I’m going to jump off the moon.”

Its predecessor, “Prince Caspian,” took $55 million in 2008.Last week’s top spot takers, “Tangled” and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1,” are now in third and fourth places, while “Megamind” concludes the weekend’s top 10.

Emma Watson Debuts New Cropped Do, Dropped As Face Of Burberry. “Harry Potter” star Emma Watson has debuted a cropped do. The 20-year-old British actress has posted her newly chopped locks on her Facebook page, amid reports that she has been replaced as the face of the luxury fashion brand Burberry. Perhaps it’s because she has finished shooting the last film in the “Harry Potter” series that Emma felt she has the freedom to cut her hair now since she’s no longer playing the bushy-haired Hermione Granger. The androgynous haircut gives her quite a transformation, but it still looks feminine and dainty on her. Meanwhile, Emma has reportedly been replaced by new “Transformers” actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley as the face of Burberry. According to our source, Rosie will now front the ads for the brand’s autumn and winter collection, edging Emma out of the picture despite the fact that she has been credited with boosting the sales of the label during her year-long association with them.A Burberry spokesman told our source that while they have a new model, they have not ruled out using Emma again in the future.

Daniel Radcliffe thought Justin Bieber was a girl.  The ‘Harry Potter’ actor has been so busy working he has failed to keep up with the current music scene and has now given up trying to know what is popular. He said: ‘I’m so out of the loop when it comes to pop culture that I kind of don’t even try anymore. Only heard Justin Bieber for the first time two weeks ago. I genuinely thought it was a woman singing. I’d never heard it before.’  While the 21-year-old star admits to being clueless about current music, he could soon be a chart rival to Justin after admitting he has been having singing lessons and honing his vocal talents by singing in karaoke bars with his ‘Harry Potter’ co-stars. He told MTV News: “I love karaoke. I am one of those people [who says], ‘No, no, I can’t, I couldn’t possibly, no I won’t… all right, give me the mic!’ And then I’m elbowing other people out of the way to get to the stage.’ Speaking about a recent karaoke night, he added: ‘I sang Elvis Presley’s ‘Hound Dog.’ That, and then I did ‘Feeling Good’ by Muse. That was my proudest moment, because I actually did that rather well. I was really pleased, because I can sing. ‘I’ve been having singing lessons for two and a half years. I’m not amazing, obviously, but I’m all right.”

Private And Confidential “Harry Potter” Script Found Abandoned In A Pub. A “Harry Potter” script marked “private and confidential” has been spotted under a pub’s table. A reader has spotted 118-page script from “The Deathly Hallows” abandoned in a pub where the film’s crew went on a drinking session the night before. The reader, who found it at the Waterside Tavern pub in Kings Langley, Herts, has surrendered the script to the tabloid The Sun, which surrendered it to Warner Bros.  WB told the paper, “We are grateful to The Sun for the safe return of this script.” The studio bosses added that it had immediately launched an investigation on how the booklet was lost.  Sources said that the movie’s crew went on a major drinking session on Thursday night. And while main star Daniel Radcliffe is known to be the only member of the cast to join the crew, he wasn’t there that night so it might not be from him.  The script apparently shows how the film adaptation is split into two parts to keep fans in suspense. It also reveals how film bosses made several dramatic changes from the book by JK Rowling
