The singer-and-actor ‘ who plays teacher Will Schuester in the musical US TV series ‘ believes the ‘Parachute’ hitmaker could resurrect her career in the US following her shock firing from ‘The X Factor’ if she landed a role on the show.

He said: “Cheryl is on the front of every newspaper and magazine in the UK. It’s not the same in America but I think she can crack it. She’s a talented girl.

“Appearing on ‘Glee’ would be a good way for Cheryl to crack America. She was part of Fox when she was in America and they also make ‘Glee’. Maybe she will get an appearance ‘ you never know.”

Matthew is also keen to see British actresses Sienna Miller and Keira Knightley appear on the programme in some capacity.

He told Reveal magazine: “I’d love to get Sienna Miller on the show. Keira Knightley would also be good. She can sing right? Well, she’d be good even if she can’t.”

Glee producers looking for a cross between Adele and Susan Boyle to appear in the show

Glee producers are reportedly looking for a cross between Adele and Susan Boyle to appear in the show.

Reports have been suggesting that the hit US musical comedy show, whose cast includes Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch, Dianna Agron and Lea Michele, is on the lookout for two exciting new female castmembers.

Apparently Ryan Murphy, who co-created the programme, is seeking a female actress who is at least 18 but looks high school age. The character will be influenced by two very different musicians ‘ 23-year-old soul singer Adele and 50-year-old Susan Boyle, who shot to fame on British reality show Britain’s Got Talent in 2009, as sources are describing her as “Adele meets Susan Boyle”.

Meanwhile, the other female character set to join the hugely anticipated season three will be more stereotypical. For her, producers are looking for somebody “beautiful and…who can sing all kinds of music”.

The 32-year-old singer-and-actor ‘ best known for playing teacher Will Schuester in ‘Glee’ ‘ is preparing for the release of his self-titled debut LP and says the tracks reflect his eclectic music taste.

He said: “The album is awesome! My musical taste is eclectic so it has stuff you could hear in a club alongside some very dark songs, plus there’s some poppy fun songs.”

The record features collaborations with a number of stars, including Sting, Gwyneth Paltrow and Sir Elton John, which Matthew admits was an “incredible” way to launch his music career.

He added: “There’s one with Gwyneth Paltrow and one with Elton John. I mean, for my debut album, singing a duet with Elton John is pretty incredible.”

The ‘Summer Rain’ singer developed an interest in musical theatre when he was at school, and though he admits he was mocked by some of his classmates over his hobby, he felt he “got away unscathed” because of his other interests.

He told Britain’s Cosmopolitan magazine: “There was an element of teasing but I got away unscathed. I was very athletic too, so I hung out with the football team and dated the homecoming queen

Lea Michelle unleashes mean girl attitude at Coachella-goer

Lea Michelle

Lea Michele has unleashed her mean-girl behavior yet again, according to a new report. The “Glee” star was with co-stars Chord Overstreet and Harry Shum Jr. when she made fun of a girl at Coachella festival Saturday. According to eonline.com, Lea and the boys were at the VIP area when Harry decided to introduce himself to a couple of girls. Instead of his real name, he introduced himself as unemployed “Jerry from San Luis Obispo.”

The girls played along even though they were totally aware of the “Glee” star’s identity.

But when one girl jokingly called “Jerry” to sit with them later, Lea apparently couldn’t resist making fun of her.

A witness said, “Lea started laughing and imitated her in a high-pitched voice. She was totally mocking her for no reason.”

This is not the first time Lea, who plays the driven Rachel Berry in the Fox series, was reported to be less than friendly to fans. “True Grit” star Hailee Steinfeld recalled that she asked for her autograph but was brushed off by the TV actress when the younger star was still unknown.

Last year, famed photographer Patrick McMullan claimed he got a taste of Lea’s nastiness when he asked for her name at the Time 100 Gala in New York. She was apparently peeved that he didn’t know who she was so she told him her name was Sarah Palin then Taylor Swift. She later apologized for her behavior when the story got printed.

Matt Damon is not the only celebrity slamming the President.

Matt Damon is joining a sting of celebrities to publicly criticize President Obama on his work in running the country. The actor, who stars in the new sci-fi thriller “The Adjustment Bureau,” told CNN’s Piers Morgan in an interview on Thursday night that Obama has “doubled down on a lot of things.”

“I really think he misinterpreted his mandate. A friend of mine said to me the other day, I thought it was a great line, ‘I no longer hope for audacity,’” Damon said, referring to the title of Obama’s political memoir.

The 40-year-old actor was one of Obama’s earliest celebrity supporters who appeared at fundraisers around the country during the 2008 presidential campaign.

“He’s doubled down on a lot of things, going back to education … the idea that we’re testing kids and we’re tying teachers salaries to how kids are performing on tests, that kind of mechanized thinking has nothing to do with higher order. We’re training them, not teaching them.” Singer and prominent Democratic donor Barbara Streisand told CNN’s Larry King in December that the president hadn’t been more aggressive on certain issues.

“”I would have liked to have him use his executive privilege … to get rid of something like ‘don’t ask, don’t tell,’” she said. “I think people admire real strength, even though it’s misguided, you know?” Meanwhile, “Glee” star Jane Lynch told London’s Guardian newspaper last year that Obama was a “huge disappointment” for his handling of “don’t ask, don’t tell” ban on gays. Playboy founder Hugh Hefner had told Fox News that he was upset that Obama hadn’t done more to end the war in Afghanistan. The President also got a lot of slack from director Spike Lee who said Obama didn’t respond quickly to last year’s devastating oil spill along the Gulf Coast. “One time, go off!” Lee told CNN’s Anderson Cooper. “If there’s any one time to go off, this is it, because this is a disaster.” Still there are some famous Obama supporters, like “Pulp Fiction” producer Lawrence Bender, who say the President is doing fine so far. “Would I like the health-care bill to have more in it? Yes! Would I like financial reform to have more in it? Yes! Do I wish more were happening? Yes!,” he had told the Hollywood Reporter. “But he’s doing a pretty good job given the circumstances he walked into.”

Glee creator Ryan Murphy has accused Kings Of Leon drummer of homophobia

After the pair became involved in an online spat yesterday (January 26). Murphy slammed the band for turning down the show’s request to feature their music, branding them “self-centred assholes”. Followill hit back by posting on his Twitter page, Twitter.com/doctorfollowill. Although the original tweet was deleted, Billboard reports that the drummer wrote: “Dear Ryan Murphy, let it go. See a therapist, get a manicure, buy a new bra. Zip your lip and focus on educating seven year-olds how to say f*ck.” Murphy then responded by accusing Followill of homophobia, a claim the sticksman denied online. “That’s [Followill] a homophobe badly in need of some education,” Murphy told celebrity our source. “I’m all for manicures, don’t wear a bra. Would guess most gay dudes don’t.” He added: “It’s telling that Nathan can reduce a group of people to a mean-spirited cliché, in a time where young gay men are killing themselves all over the country because of hatred like this. “That said, I would love to sit down with Nathan or any member of Kings and Leon, and tell them how on Glee we actually love their music, and support their artistry… but cannot condone or even laugh at their clear disdain of gay people.” Followill responded by tweeting: “I’m sorry for anyone that misconstrued my comments as homophobic or misogynistic. I’m so not that kind of person. I really do apologise.”
