Florida’s We The Kings have secured themselves as one of the most original & exciting bands in the pop-rock circuit, with a heavily dedicated fan base, having toured the US with bands such as Boys Like Girls, All Time Low, Cobra Starship and, most recently, headlining the 2009 Vans Warped Tour.  Sophomore album, ‘Smile Kid’, will be released on March 8th and infectious first single, ‘Heaven Can Wait’, released March 1st is already climbing the charts in the US, becoming the band’s fastest rising single to date & reaching the Top 10 on the Alternative Singles Chart. It’s the band’s third Top 40 charting single in the US.  Produced by S*A*M and SLUGGO (Gym Class Heroes, Cobra Starship) ‘Smile Kid’ follows their self titled smash debut which hit # 1 on Billboard’s New Alternative Album sales chart. Time in the studio gelled the band’s already energetic and tight sound. Instantly addictive tracks such as ‘Heaven Can Wait’, ‘She Takes Me High’ & ‘We’ll Be A Dream’ (featuring Disney’s Demi Lovato) brim with youthful vibrancy and enthusiasm, clocking in at short and sweet three-minute bursts. The world of We The Kings is a never-ending buzz of activity, where fans and band are equal participants. Waking Up In Vegas – Katy Perry on RTV Channel.

Katy Perry-Waking Up In VegasThis time Katy Perry isn’t kissing girls or worried male fickleness. She is stuck in Vegas without her fake ID or her boyfriend’s motel room key. The detail in the song’s story is fun propelled along by a steady beat that breaks into a chorus almost worthy of being an advertising jingle for Las Vegas tourism. Anders Carlsson’s past experience working with Max Martin is obvious in the song’s poppy energy. Greg Wells has serious skill in helping turn a song into something unforgettably catchy. Then there is Katy Perry who fearlessly steps forward into stories and wit that skates the line between quite funny and annoyingly in your Continue reading →

21 Guns – Green Day. Check out the video on RTV Channel.

Green Day - 21 GunsGreen Day have an expensive looking video out for their new single, “21 Guns.” The clip finds the band performing the ballad in a room that was assaulted by gunfire, and a couple under similar circumstances. The gunfire is probably a metaphor for something, but was probably chosen because it looks sorta cool. This song is a perfect example how Green Day have opted for a generic and vague lyrical approach, but then claim that they’re political now (or something). This is as political and meaningful as a Che Guevara poster in a dorm room. Check out the video on RTV Channel.

Party In The U.S.A. – Miley Cyrus on RTV

miley-cyrus-party-in-the-usaThe music video for Miley Cyrus’ smash hit single “Party In the USA” is out. It is directed by Chris Applebaum and fits the themes and sound of the song nearly perfectly. Instead of at a trailer park like in a controversial earlier live performance, Miley Cyrus and friends dance in the daylight at a drive-in movie theater. She shows off her cowboy boots. Midway through the video the flag is unfurled and much of the rest is distinctly intended to celebrate the USA. The entire feel of the clip remains gently laidback matching the tempo and tenor of the song. Check out the video on RTV Channel.

Battlefield – Jordin Sparks. Check out the video on RTV Channel.

jordin-sparks-battlefieldBattlefield” is the lead single from Grammy-nominated American R&B artist Jordin Sparks’ sophomore studio album, which is due to be released July 14, 2009. The single was able to be purchased on iTunes as of May 12th, 2009. The mid-tempo R&B track was written and produced by Grammy nominated producer/songwriter and One Republic frontman Ryan Tedder, whose long list of accolades includes hits for fellow American Idol Kelly Clarkson, Beyoncé, Leona Lewis, Timbaland, Jennifer Hudson and Rihanna. Run This Town – Jay-Z, Rihanna & Kanye West on RTV

Run This Town Jay-Z Rihanna and Kanye WestOK, so they may have lost this week’s sales battle with teen star Miley Cyrus, but the video just released for “Run This Town” by Jay-Z, Rihanna, and Kanye West is powerful. The video was directed by veteran video director Anthony Mandler who has directed 10 of Rihanna’s videos. He commented on the production of the video saying, “We wanted you to feel uneasy throughout the piece. We wanted there to be a constant layer of tension through the piece.” A small army of extras adds to the feeling of tense dread in a chaotic world. The video was filmed just over two weeks ago in New York City’s Fort Totten Park. There is not an official confirmation, but a live performance of “Run This Town” is expected at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. For now, check out the video on RTV Channel

No Surprise – Daughtry. Check out the video on RTV Channel.

DaughtryLeaveThisTownDaughtry are planning to stick around awhile. “No Surprise,” the first single from their upcoming second album, Leave This Town, makes that abundantly clear. Daughtry are the sound of mainstream rock today, and “No Surprise” is possibly stronger than any of the singles off their four million selling debut album. A wall of guitar is topped off by Chris Daughtry’s gravelly but clear vocals and skillfully crafted lyrics. There’s no mistaking this as a hit when you hear it. Check out the video on RTV Channel.

Burn It To The Ground – Nickelback on RTV Channel

Burn It To The Ground - NickelbackNickelback sure do love their 1980s arena rock. Not only do they write some of the most anthemic rock you’ll hear on radio these days, on their most recent album, ‘Dark Horse,’ the Canadian superstars hired Robert “Mutt” Lange to sit in the producer’s chair. “The cool thing about Mutt is that he always envisions a band playing in an arena and the dynamics that should go behind that.” says Nickelback guitarist/vocalist Chad Kroeger when Noisecreep caught up with him this week. Known for his sonically groundbreaking work on classic albums by Continue reading →

I Gotta Feeling – The Black Eyed Peas on RTV Channel

I Gotta Feeling - The Black Eyed PeasThis is finally the true sequel to the Black Eyed Peas’ huge classic “Let’s Get It Started.” The abrupt change in musical style from the electro of “Boom Boom Pow” may startle some fans, but in recent years musical eclecticism has become a trademark of the Black Eyed Peas. Put this on when you head out Friday night, as suggested by, and you just may have found your favorite party song of summer 2009. Check out the video on RTV Channel.

This was thGood Girls Go Bad – Cobra Starship on RTV Channel

good-girls-go-bad-feat-leighton-meester-300x300 lead single from the American pop punk band’s third album, Hot Mess. This song was produced by American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi. The busy songwriter/producer only could spare a couple of hours to spend with the band in the studio. This upset Cobra frontman Gabe Saporta, and he told MTV News that he gave her a “stinky beat” and popped off a list of foul-mouthed song titles. However DioGuardi didn’t flinch, which impressed the singer and within fifteen minutes they had recorded the song. This song features guest vocals from Gossip Continue reading →
