Cheryl Cole’s top red carpet tip is to always keep a pre-loaded blusher brush with her.
The ‘Promise This’ hitmaker is no stranger to movie premieres and glitzy red carpet parties, but always keeps a couple of emergency items of make up with her to ensure she stays looking fresh faced.
She said: “In my red carpet clutch bag I keep eyeliner, of course. And lip gloss and sometimes I have a pre-loaded little blusher brush in the bag. It can make the inside of the bag a little dirty, but it’s a good trick.”
Cheryl also has a great number of dresses to pick from when it comes to dressing up for showbiz events, but has rules in place to stop her from taking too long to choose what to wear.
She added to Britain’s OK! magazine: “I used to feel like it was good to have a lot of choice, but I don’t now. You don’t help yourself if you try on loads and think, ‘maybe this one, maybe that one’. It just makes things complicated. If I like it, I like it, I’m not going to overload my brain over-thinking it.
“If I put on a dress and it works, I stick with it.”
The music mogul had spent months debating who should join him on the judging panel for the US version of ‘The X Factor’ and while he initially went with fellow Brit Cheryl, it has now been claimed she has been replaced by Nicole.
Insiders claim Simon ‘ who is also on the panel with Paula Abdul and L.A. Reid and worked with Cheryl on the UK version for three series ‘ knew he had to change things because the chemistry between the original judges wasn’t right and felt the former Pussycat Dolls star ‘ who was originally meant to co-host alongside Steve Jones – would fit in better than Cheryl.
A source told UsMagazine.com: “Throughout the whole decision making process, Simon was really torn between Cheryl and Nicole. He absolutely loved Nicole, really felt like she was the right one, but also knew his chemistry with Cheryl had been great before in the UK. He finally decided on the more comfortable option and chose Cheryl.
“With the pressure building for this show to be a success, Cheryl was a much bigger risk and instinctively, as time went on, Nicole felt more and more like the right choice. Nicole was so disappointed before when she wasn’t picked, but now, thankfully, she is in the role she was always meant for. And Simon knows that.”
Simon knows he’s under huge pressure for the show to be a hit and accepted there would be hard decisions to make along the way.
The source added: “It’s his name on the line all the way through this — it literally can’t fail. The chemistry has to be right; it’s the vital element that holds this whole thing together. The judges’ connection with the audience could make or break the entire project.”
It has yet to be confirmed whether Cheryl has been dropped but insiders claim she has flown back to the UK and is now in hiding.
Cheryl Cole has been axed from the US ‘The X Factor’. According to gossip website TMZ, the British singer ‘ whose role was confirmed earlier this month ‘ is said to have been replaced on the judging panel by Nicole Scherzinger, who was originally meant to host the show alongside Steve Jones.
The former Pussycat Dolls star will now sit alongside Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and L.A. Reid on the panel, while British star Steve will host the show on his own.
It still remains unclear why Cheryl has gone and the show’s boss Simon has yet to comment.
When her role was announced, Cheryl – who has been a judge on the UK version since 2008, mentoring the winning act in her first two series ‘ said she couldn’t wait to get to work.
The 27-year-old beauty said: “I’m so excited to be taking part in the American version of ‘The X Factor’.
“I absolutely love it here in the UK, and with the talent they have out in America, I’m sure we’re going to find someone very special. I can’t wait to get started.
“I just can’t decide whether I am more excited to find and nurture the talent or for the unbelievable amount of amusement and entertainment I will have watching Simon doing everything and anything he can to beat me.
“He’s tried to beat me for three years in the UK, and hasn’t even come close. His ego must be so bruised. America is gonna love this.”
Simon – who, along with Cheryl, has quit the UK show – said: “I’m thrilled for Cheryl. She is massively excited about this show, and has been fantastic to work with. She is also a complete brat! Most importantly, this girl can spot talent.”
News Of The World claim that Cowell has ‘officially endorsed’ Barlow as a potential judge and that a deal could be signed within weeks.
According to a report in The Sun, ‘a source’ said ‘Gary is now a definite. Gary knows the business inside and out. If anyone could replace Simon, it’s him.’
Cowell is currently diving his time between a number of shows on both sides of the Atlantic, but he’ll be concentrating on the US version of the show from now on, taking Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole with him.
‘Forget Osama Bin Laden, Cheryl Cole is a judge on X-Factor,’ Cowell told News of the World. ‘She’s such a sweetheart.’
The British singer ‘ who was announced as a judge on the musical talent show alongside Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid yesterday (05.05.11) ‘ will miss home while she is in the US on the programme, but is taking some of her favourite comforts with her.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I’m a really homely person and I miss home even when I’m only away for a few days.
“But I’m only working there so I’ll be back as much as I’ll be away. I just need to take some home comforts like teabags and hot chocolate and I’ll be fine.”
The 27-year-old star is also set to drop her surname and be known as Cheryl and although some had been concerned at her strong accent ‘ as she hails from the North East of England ‘ she believes it will be a strength.
She told The Sun newspaper: “So far I have only ever been complimented on my accent. Americans are always really sweet about my accent and seem to find it intriguing, which I think is quite funny.
“It’s going be very different for me from our British version just because America is so huge and the age range on X Factor is going to open it up to age 12 to age 80.
“But talent is talent no matter where in the world you’re from.
“That’s one of the special things about it. Talent doesn’t have a class or an accent or a country, it’s a gift – and I love finding that in people.”
Following the announcement that Cheryl is joining ‘The X Factor’ panel in America, it has now been confirmed she will no longer be part of the British version of the show.
The ‘Pass Out’ hitmaker is a huge fan of the ‘Promise This’ singer and keen to team up on record after meeting the 27-year-old beauty at the BRIT Awards earlier this month.
He told radio station Capital Yorkshire FM: “I wouldn’t rule out a collaboration with Cheryl on my next album. I gave her a quick kiss backstage – it’s like, ‘Man, I love you.’ ”
As well as Cheryl, Tinie – who won Best British Single and Best British Breakthrough at the BRITs – is keen to write a track with ‘Rolling In The Deep’ singer Adele, although he admits it’s unlikely to happen soon.
He said: “I would love to collaborate with her, it would be absolutely incredible, but it’s all about doing it on the right record.
“She’s just launched a new album she’s doing a new campaign and her album sounds a very certain way. I can’t see her coming away from that any time soon, but given the opportunity I would love to make that happen.”
On his debut album, ‘Disc-Overy’, Tinie had guest stars including female singers Ellie Goulding and Kelly Rowland.
The blonde singer ‘ who got engaged to DJ Tom Crane on New Year’s Eve (31.12.10) after dating for over three years ‘ insists all her Girls Aloud bandmates will be at the nuptials and says rumours of a rift between Nadine and the rest of the girls are completely false.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: ”m getting married, I can’t wait. All the Girls Aloud girlies will be at my wedding, as far as I know, and yes, that 100 per cent includes Nadine. There really is no drama between any of us. It’s going to be amazing.’
It had been reported Los Angeles-based Nadine had fallen out with Sarah and the rest of the band ‘ Cheryl Cole, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh ‘ as she had spoken to any of them in a while, but everyone has insisted there was no big argument.
It seems Sarah’s bandmates could be in for a surprise on her big day as she is planning a gothic-themed wedding based on award-winning ballet thriller ‘Black Swan’.
She told The Sun newspaper: ”m obsessed with the film. I love that dark, gothic kind of feel and I want to channel that into the wedding. I want everything to be dark, the decoration on the tables and everything.
‘Tom wants something more traditional but I want to show a bit of my dark side. I would love to have it in a gothic castle.’
Kimberley Walsh ‘ who is joined in the band by Nicola Roberts, Sarah Harding, Cheryl Cole and Nadine Coyle ‘ insists the group will tour again, despite them being on hiatus since September 2009, but admits she doubts they will ever officially announce the demise of the ‘Love Machine’ hitmakers.
She said: ‘ don’t think we’ll ever officially break up, to be honest.
‘t’ll be more a case of having breaks to go out and do little things we want to do, then coming back again. We’ll definitely tour again. We’re a live act; that’s where we come into our own.’
Kimberley admits the attention she receives for being in the spotlight can be tough but she feels more protective of bandmate Cheryl ‘ who is also a judge on UK TV talent show ‘The X Factor’ ‘ because the interest in the ‘Promise This’ singer is so much more.
She added in an interview with Cosmopolitan magazine: ‘t’s much worse for Cheryl because of the height of publicity around her, and I do feel a little protective.
‘ don’t like the fact she’s so trapped sometimes, trying to go out and about.
‘There’s not a great deal you can do about it but it frustrates me. Everyone deserves a little bit of freedom and she doesn’t even have that.’
Cheryl Cole repackages gifts and pass them on. Cheryl Cole repackages things she has been given for free and gives them away as gifts to other people. The ‘Promise This’ singer is not as generous as she makes out to be, according to her friend Simon Cowell, who she is a judge with on UK TV talent show ‘The X Factor’. Simon said: ‘Whenever you go to an event and you get a bag of freebies, Cheryl repackages them and gives them to somebody else. I always give mine to charity.’ Simon also branded Cheryl ‘narcissistic’ after previously accusing her of copying the ‘salute’ gesture he used to do for fans. He added to Syco: ‘We’ve established that she won’t be copying my salute anymore. She says it’s a salute to Cheryl’s Army, which is so narcissistic! I don’t think she realises how insane that sounds.’ Cheryl isn’t the only ‘X Factor’ star to pass on the freebies she is given because of her celebrity status. Earlier this year, Dannii Minogue admitted she and her sister, singer Kylie Minogue, often swap the clothes they are given because they are different sizes. She said: “I get so much gorgeous stuff. I’m slightly bigger than her, so if she gets something a bit big, she’ll give it to me, and if I get something too small, it goes her way.”
Cheryl Cole has been immortalised in wax. The British singer is the latest star to be honoured with her own replica figure by famous museum Madame Tussauds and she unveiled her double in London yesterday in front of a host of fans. As she was introduced to her model doppelganger, Cheryl said: ‘ can’t explain how strange it is! It will take a little while to take in!’ The waxwork reflects Cheryl’s glamorous look and is styled in a specially created scarlet floor-length Jean-Paul Gaultier dress with killer heels. The model also has the 27-year-old pop star’s trademark flowing locks and can be seen posing with hands on hips. The new £150,000 wax figure can be found in the A-list party area which includes doubles of Dame Helen Mirren, Robert Pattinson and Russell Brand. Liz Edwards, PR Manager at Madame Tussauds, said: ‘As the reaction of the public here today confirms, Cheryl is one of Britain’s hottest celebrities and we’re delighted to welcome her to Madame Tussauds London. We’ve been inundated with requests to feature her figure in the attraction and we expect it to quickly become one of the most popular here. Like the real Ms Cole, the figure is a knock out and will fit in perfectly with the glamorous line-up of stars in our A-List party area.’
