While other “Jersey Shore” stars are hawking books, diet pills and clothing lines, DJ Pauly D is going to keep doing what he does best. Pauly D has signed on to become the exclusive resident DJ at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. He’ll be performing the Vegas hot spot’s Rain and Moon nightclubs, as well as the Palms Pool & Bungalows. “I am thrilled to have Pauly D as an exclusive Vegas resident and to welcome him to our family at Palms Casino Resort,” said Palms Owner George Maloof.
He joins some major names in dance music who have headlined at the Palms’ venues, including Paul Oakenfold and Felix da Housecat.
Let’s hope they’re okay with giving him a few days off. He’s supposed to join the rest of the “Jersey Shore” cast in Italy for the show’s fourth season.
He’s also rumored to go in front of the cameras for his own spin-off, which might just follow his time in Vegas as the city’s hot new resident DJ.
Lady Gaga has dissolved her exclusive deal wit Target over the retail giant’s stand on LGBT issues. The pop star decided to discontinue her working relationship with the company over its controversial political donations. Vocal lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender supporter Gaga and Target, which came under fire last year after it was learned that it made donations to anti-gay politicans and organizations, had an agreement to sell an exclusive version of her album “Born This Way.” Last month, Gaga said that she wanted to work with the store so she can help them reform and get affiliated with LGBT charity groups, telling Billboard, “Part of my deal with Target is that they have to start affiliating themselves with LGBT charity groups and begin to reform and make amends for the mistakes they’ve made in the past.” “Our relationship is hinged upon their reform in the company to support the gay community and to redeem the mistakes they’ve made supporting those [antigay] groups.” But it seems that Target’s reeducation, courtesy of Gaga, has come to an end. According to The Advocate, she decided to end their deal. A source told The Advocate, “She and Target didn’t see eye to eye on Target’s policy of political donations and how they affect the LGBT community.” Gaga’s rep also confirmed the report, saying, “Lady Gaga and Target came to a mutual decision to end their overall exclusive partnership a few weeks ago.”
The Foo Fighters frontman ‘ who has daughters Violet, four, and 22-month-old Harper with wife Jordyn ‘ revealed his spouse was understanding of his wish to record the group’s new album ‘Wasting Light’ in their home because his work is all he thinks about. He said: ‘My wife has been really cool about me recording the album here. There were 25 people at my house every day.
‘She understands that it’s my job. But more than that, it’s the one thing I do. I don’t do anything else. I don’t go hiking or have hobbies or sports or friends. I just do this.’
The ‘Rope’ singer believes working on the album in his house – with guitarists Chris Shiflett and Pat Smear, bassist Nate Mendel and drummer Taylor Hawkins – had an impact on how it sounds, and he will be reminded of the experience whenever he hears the record back.
He explained to UK Elle magazine: ‘Studio memories are really vivid and they last forever. So when I hear a song on the radio that we’ve made, I remember that day, I remember what I was wearing, what I ate.
‘Making the album here in this house, that was part of the concept. The experience dictates what the music sounds like, so rather than it being some cold mechanical process that ends up like a sheet of paper in a book, it’s more like a real experience that comes through in the way you play guitar or sing.
‘When I listen to any of the stuff here, I remember things like the day my daughter took the splicing tape and tied all the door knobs together.’
Academy Award-winning actor Al Pacino owes the Internal Revenue Service $188,000. Uncle Sam’s tax department has filed a tax lien against the 70-year-old “The Godfather” star for owing the government unpaid taxes in 2008 and 2009.
According to the documents obtained by TMZ, Pacino owes back taxes worth $169,143.06 in 2008 and $19,140.44 in 2009.
But the movie legend didn’t mean to abandon his payment duties. A rep for the actor told the website that the oversight was his former business manager’s fault, Kevin Starr.
He has a new management team now so they are hoping that they will be able to remedy the situation as soon as possible.
Guy Ritchie is going to be a dad again after knocking up Jacqui Ainsley. Film Director Guy Ritchie, who has been in a new relationship since his divorce from Madonna in 2008, is going to be a father again. Ritchie and girlfriend, model Jacqui Ainsley have been dating for over a year and now will be expecting their first child together in September, reports the Daily Mail. The baby will be his second biological Child after son Rocco, 10, with Madonna. He is also father to their adopted son David, six, from Malawi. He also helped raise the singer’s 14-year-old daughter, Lourdes. A source told the British paper that the 42-year-old Ritchie and 29-year-old Ainsley “have been keen to start a family. We expect to hear wedding bells next year.” The couple made headlines after Ainsley was caught leaving his London home after spending the night in June. Another source revealed: “Jacqui was crying with joy when she found out. They went on holiday because Guy is desperate for her to take it easy. He won’t let her do anything more strenuous than argue over baby names.” Ritchie is currently in London to work on the sequel to the 2009’s $520 million-grossing hit “Sherlock Holmes,” with actors Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law.
Vanessa Hudgens reveals reason behind new butterfly tattoo. Vanessa Hudgens, who stars in the box office hit “Beastly,” has revealed the personal reason behind her first tattoo. During an appearance last week on “Late Show with David Letterman” in New York City to promote the film, the former “High School Musical” star said she feels like a “bada**” for going under the needle. “It was very last minute, but I’ve actually wanted it for years,” she said. “It’s my very first tattoo. I kind of feel like a bada** now.” The 22-year-old actress said she headed to a tattoo parlor in New York last month and left with a large butterfly inked on the back of her neck. Hudgens told the late night host the butterfly comes from a story her mother told her. “A butterfly landed on my mom’s stomach a week before I was born and that’s how I got my name, because Vanessa means butterfly – it’s a Latin derivative.” The 2008 Teen Choice Awards-winner went on to say she dated, “the smallest and skinniest kid in sixth grade” and eventually moved on to guys like Zac Efron. But the actress revealed that Effron, whom she dated for years before ending their much-publicized romance in 2010, may have been too “vain” for her. “I like the dorks,” she explained. “I know some guys that are more vain than girls, especially in this business. It’s annoying.”
Charlie Sheen is going on a road trip with Sean Penn to Haiti. The controversial actor confirms he will be going with the philanthropist in an effort to “bring the attention of the world” to the earthquake-devastated nation. Talking to Access Hollywood, Sheen, 45, confirmed that he plans to travel to the Caribbean country with his fellow actor to help with the latter’s J/P Haitian Relief Organization. Sheen said, “We’re going to do a couple things first and then it looks like we’re heading down [to Haiti]. And I’m excited as hell because if I can bring the attention of the world down there, then clearly this tsunami keeps cresting.” Penn believes that the hyperactive actor’s energy will be put in good use. He said in a statement obtained by Access Hollywood, “I think his energies, intelligence and passion could be both of service and servicing to him, as it is to all who are touched by the struggle of the Haitian people… Charlie is one of the very few public people who cannot be accused of using the media to his own benefit.” “I would very much like to show my friend the world of needs on the ground in Haiti, and introduce him and his tremendous wit to our hard working Haitian staff. If he chooses to give support, I’ll trust it.” It is not clear whether Sheen will be bringing his “goddesses” with him to Haiti.
Multi-Grammy-winner Phil Collins is quitting his music career. The former Genesis drummer says he is planning to retire from his long and successful stint in showbiz after learning that he has health problems that prevents him from playing drums. The 60-year-old “In the Air Tonight” and “Against All Odds” hitmaker told FHM, via Time magazine, that years of hunching behind his drums left him with nerve damage in his stick-clutching hands, making playing the instrument painful. He also suffers from other medical conditions he got from years of performing, including hearing loss and dislocated vertebra. Collins, who now lives in a small town in Switzerland, thinks that retiring is the only logical thing to do next, saying, “I don’t really belong to that world and I don’t think anyone’s going to miss me. I’m much happier just to write myself out of the script entirely.” And to the haters who have been highly critical of his accomplishments in the industry since the late ’60s, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee apologized for being successful, saying, “I’m sorry that it was all so successful. I honestly didn’t mean it to happen like that.” “It’s hardly surprising that people grew to hate me.”
The wallpaper in Gayle King’s Manhattan apartment may look like any 17th Century French-inspired design. But take a closer look, and you’ll find something surprising.
On thursday’s episode of “The Nate Berkus Show,” Oprah Winfrey’s best friend invited cameras into her freshly decorated apartment, where the wallpaper in the galley kitchen depicts African-American life in rural and urban areas. Created by interior designer Sheila Bridges, the yellow print called “Harlem Toile de Jouy” shows satirical scenes of African-Americans playing basketball and listening to a boombox. “Yellow is my favorite color,” King said. “I don’t believe that you can be surrounded by yellow and be unhappy.” When Berkus asked, “What story does your home tell?” King remembered an advice the host once told her. “I forgot where we were…you, me, Oprah. Someplace we were talking, and you said ‘Your home should be a reflection of you.’ So, I can travel all around the world, all around the country and see homes that are bigger than mine, nicer than mine, but I never feel when I go back, ‘Oh I wished I lived there,’ because I think my home is a happy place.” It is reported that King’s New York City penthouse is worth $7.4 million. It includes three bedrooms, 3½ baths, a large living room/dining area and a 768-square-foot wraparound terrace. The talk show host and editor-at-large of O magazine also revealed a tip she “stole” from Winfrey. “She thinks that the ceilings of your house should never be cream or white, so every ceiling she said should be painted a different color,” King told the audience. “First, I thought it was weird, but now I like it.” At one point during her appearance on the show, King said the last taping of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” is going to be “harder on me than it is on her.” “If you called her right now and said ‘how many shows?’ she would say, ‘42 and…’ whatever it is,” she said about Winfrey. “But after 25 years, and 25 years at number one, and now launching OWN, she’s ready to go on to something, but every time I see a show I say ‘this is the last time we’ll ever see Favorite Things. This is the last time we’ll ever see Oprah’s Oscar Show,’ and she goes, ‘will you stop saying that! I’m in a good place.’”
Lindsay Lohan wants her father to stop talking about her. The “Mean Girls” actress has always been vocal about her strained relationship with Michael Lohan, but this is the first time that she officially condemns him for his interfering actions since leaving rehab this year. When the father and daughter shortly reunited while she was checked into the Betty Ford Clinic late last year, the public thought that they have reunited for good. But apparently, Michael’s love for publicity is too much for the recovering addict. Just last month, Michael booked her on “Late Show with David Letterman” without her management’s consent. He claimed that Lindsay approved the idea, but her team canceled it the minute they found out. And now, Michael will be entering the reality show “Celebrity Rehab,” which pissed off Lindsay because she knows he will just be talking about her. Lindsay told our source in a statement, “I am sorry that my father has continually chosen to speak publicly about our relationship, my mother, my siblings, and my professional team.” “I am working through my recovery day-by-day and find his public media bouts unnecessary and damaging.” During her latest rehab stint, Michael’s name was frequently brought up. A source close to the actress says that she blames a lot of her problems and issues on Michael. The source said, “His name came up constantly. Lindsay has a lot of unresolved feelings and anger towards Michael.”
