Bar Refaeli, Bradley Cooper Partake In Nike’s Primetime Knockout Tennis Event. Fashion Week is coming up fast, but until September 9, the U.S. Open is the big event in New York City. And some of fashion’s biggest names are getting involved. Various celebrities, including supermodel Bar Refaeli, were at Nike’s Primetime Knockout tennis event to celebrate the season’s final Grand Slam tournament by pairing the athletes with local youth during an exhibition match in New York. Refaeli took some time to participate in the event before gearing up for New York fashion week, set to start on September 9. In preparation for the event, Bar honed her game back in Israel with her trainer. She reportedly wasn’t as good as Maria Sharapova, but it seems that no one really noticed her tennis technique; people more noticed her tennis skirt. Bar Refaeli, among other celebrities, played a few tennis matches for the Nike Tennis Event for the U.S. Open. Also at the event were actor Bradley Cooper, New York Giants defensive lineman Justin Tuck, and tennis stars Roger Federer, Maria Sharapova, Serena Williams and Rafael Nadal.
Unrecognizable Leonardo DiCaprio Asked To Move Theater Seats. Leonardo DiCaprio doesn’t do a diva fit when people don’t recognize him. A roomful of theatergoers did not recognize the A-list star with his supermodel girlfriend, Bar Refaeli, and asked them to move out from their seats. The beautiful pair were at Century City in L.A. to watch a showing of “Iron Man 2” last Saturday. What DiCaprio did not realize was that people could reserve seats and he did not. They were apparently asked to move four times. A source told us, “During the previews, Leo and his group were asked to move three times. Then, as the trailer for his new movie, ‘Inception,’ began playing, they were asked to move again. They were gracious, [and] Leo was smiling at the irony of it.” The two ended up sitting in the front row, the worst seats in the house, but the two apparently didn’t mind.
Supermodel Bar Refaeli Urged By Israeli Extremist Group (seeking publicity)To Dump Leonardo DiCaprio. Supermodel Bar Refaeli should not marry boyfriend Leonardo DiCaprio, an Israeli nationalist group has said. The 24-year-old catwalk beauty has already denied rumors she is engaged to the “Titanic” star, but the activists in her native land still urges her to reconsider her relationship with him. A leader of the Extremist Group sent her a beseeching letter on behalf of the Extremist organization. In the letter, they are asking Refaeli to ditch DiCaprio and reconsider marrying a Jewish boy instead. It reads: “It is not by chance that you were born Jewish. Your grandmother and her grandmother did not dream that one of their descendants would one day remove the family’s future generations from the Jewish people. Assimilation has forever been one of the enemies of the Jewish people.” Though he stressed that he has “nothing against Mr. DiCaprio, who I have no doubt is a talented actor,” he is still not the husband-material for a Jewish girl like Refaeili. The Extremist Group said it’s not what the Hollywood superstar is, but what he isn’t. He concluded, “Come to your senses, look forward and back too – and not only the present. Don’t marry Leonardo DiCaprio, don’t harm the future generations.” What do you think about that?
Andy Roddick’s wife cried over her first ever Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover. Brooklyn Decker says landing the coveted photoshoot is the “equivalent of a model winning the MVP or the Super Bowl.” After making her SI Swimsuit debut in 2006, the 22-year-old North Carolina native finally nabbed the cover spot this year. She told Today show on Monday, “I burst into tears like a child. It’s really exciting. It’s just now hitting me, so I am really happy.” Decker said she was just as surprised as everyone else. She did not learn that she landed the cover spot until Monday, when she thought she was just going to a casting call. She now joins a long list of supermodels and celebrities who have graced the SI cover over the years, such as Tyra Banks, Bar Refaeli, Rachel Hunter, Rebecca Romijn, Elle Macpherson, Christie Brinkley, and Marisa Miller. The blonde beauty, who married the tennis champ in April last year, has also been unveiled as the new face and body of the lingerie brand La Senza.

There’s a certain kind of Italian celebrity for which there is no real equivalent in American life: velina, a term that encompasses the beauty queens, aspiring actresses, and showgirl-slash-models who dominate the country’s television shows wearing miniskirts, mile-high heels, and smiles wider than the Appian Way. Their onscreen responsibilities range from prancing and bouncing to fawning over their older male companions, yet their charms Continue reading →
