JLS and Robbie to clean up at the REAL Brits.  UK Music lovers show who they really want to win Brit Awards ahead of tonight’s event.   JLS and Robbie Williams are the undisputed champions of the 2010 Brit awards – and the event hasn’t even happened yet. Music video streaming site MUZU.TV polled over 5,000 Britons all last week to find out which artists we most want to win. Despite critics claiming that this year’s awards will be dominated by the women, the public have voted otherwise. Every day last week, MUZU.TV put hot favourite Brit nominees up against each other, to battle it out for the public vote on its ‘Video Fight Club’. Fans voted for the artists they think deserve to win in each category. The results of the REAL Brits are:  · The most popular artist of the entire poll was international heart-throb Robbie Williams. The cheeky northerner gave Calvin Harris, Dizzy Rascal and Paulo Nutini a run for their money, winning a staggering 98% of votes for the British Male Solo award.
· X-Factor stars, JLS, have clearly also won the hearts of the nation – 77% of those polled voted for the boy band to win British Breakthrough Act.
· Diva Leona Lewis stole 97% of the votes to win the Best Female Solo Artist, leaving Pixie Lott and Bat for Lashes in the shade
· According to British music fans, Florence and the Machine should be taking home the Best Album gong. The flame haired crooner had 51% of the public’s vote, beating Dizzee Rascal and Lily Allen.
· 73% of us want Tinchy Stryder to walk away with Best Single for his track ‘Number One’, featuring N-Dubz. The pint sized urban music star, who’s monocle is ‘Star in the Hood’, stomped all over competition from Alexandra Burke, Alesha Dixon and Cheryl Cole
· Indie and rock fans around the country showed support for Kasabian, who won 62% of all votes to win Best Group.

The Brits will take place on Tonight 16 February at London’s Earls Court Arena commemorating 30 shows of the best in British music

Alesha Dixon ‘Offered £100,000 For Strictly Job’

alesha_dixonThere is more gossip about Alesha Dixon’s rumoured job as a judge on the next season of Strictly Come Dancing.  Last week a paper reported the singer would be joining the panel, as BBC bosses are hoping the next series will appeal to a younger audience.  Now, according to a new article in the Daily Star, Alesha has been offered £100,000 for her services – which is double her fellow judges – Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel-Horwood.  A show source apparently told the paper: “Alesha doesn’t come cheap but was well worth it in the Beeb’s eyes.” “She’s a young star who will chime with younger viewers who they are very keen to attract in their ratings battle with ITV’s X Factor.”  “However, the rest of the judges may not like to hear how much money she is getting compared to them.” “There could be rumblings of discontent in the run-up to the series, with the others demanding a pay rise to bring them close to Alesha.”Dixon will be touring in October and November and tickets are still on sale.

Charlotte Church hits the Isle of Wight festival

charlotte-churchrtvShe may have kept a low profile since the birth of her second child, but Charlotte Church took a break from mum-duty this weekend, to hit the Isle of Wight Festival.  Joined by partner, Gavin Henson, the singer left five-month old Dexter and 20-month-old Ruby at home, and hit the tents in a boho floor-skimming maxi dress and wide-brim hat. Rubbishing rumours that their relationship is on the rocks, the couple enjoyed a laidback weekend, watching acts such as Stereophonics, The Noisettes, The Ting Tings and Alesha Dixon.  And they weren’t the only stars hitting the summer circuit. Festival-favourite, Fearne Cotton, adopted a weekend uniform of printed oversized tees, leggings, flat boots, and a bowler hat.   Meanwhile making a bid for the season’s fashion icon, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley raced to the top of the weekend’s best dressed list, in denim cut-off shorts, a beaten-up leather jacket, flat brown boots and an on-trend oversized red printed scarf. Ms Moss had better watch out; we have a new festival fashionista on our hands!

Friday is Ladies night with Bananarama, Ladyhawke, Alesha Dixon, and The Noisettes. For campers The Human League lead the entertainment on the Thursday night. For the line-up details, day splits, and rumours as available.  Tickets are priced at £140 for an adult ticket with camping which includes entertainment in the campsite on Thursday night, and £70 for a child ticket (12 years and under). The price of an adult ticket without camping is £120 and £60 for children (12 years and under). Every person attending the festival must purchase a ticket. This includes babes in arms.

The original Isle Of Wight Festival will forever be etched in musical history after it housed Jimi Hendrix’s last ever performance, attracted the largest ever UK festival crowd and led to any future festivals being banned from the island after nearly half a million hippies turned the 1970 site into a chaotic free-for-all.  However, since it was re-ignited in 2002, the festival has forged a new identity that differs from its predecessors. Big names like The Rolling Stones and The Police honour the spirits of greats like Dylan and The Doors as some 60,000 fans annually cross the Solent for the three-day bash.  With one main stage and a big top the festival is predominantly about the music and a varied line-up means there is often something for everyone with The Cribs, Amy Winehouse and Sugababes performing recently.  Onsite there is a funfair as well as a selection of food and drink stalls. Camping is available from the Thursday
