Martin Scorsese Hires British Cast For New Film.  Oscar Award-winning director Martin Scorsese has hired British cast for his first 3D film. “The Invention of Hugo Cabret” will feature Sacha Baron Cohen, Sir Ben Kingsley, Sir Christopher Lee, and Jude Law among others. The film – which also stars Ray Winstone, Richard Griffith, Helen McCrory, and Frances de la Tour – is an adaptation of the award-winning children’s book of the same name by Brian Selznick about a 12-year-old boy who lives in the walls of a Paris train station.  The titular character will be played by 13-year-old Asa Butterfield (“The Boy in the Striped Pajamas”).  Screenwriter John Logan wrote the film adaptation. The film, Scorsese’s first foray into 3D, has started production in London and will be out in December 2011.
