“Hot Tub Time Machine” Splashes Onto DVD, Blu-ray. “Hot Tub Time Machine” is currently available on DVD and Blu-ray Hi-Def. One of the funniest comedies of 2010 has found its “Home Sweet Home” on home format from MGM and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. The story of four present-day friends accidentally journeying back to the 1980s has all-new features to enhance the hilarity. A weekend getaway isn’t all it’s cracked up to be for estranged buddies Adam, Nick and Lou (John Cusack, Craig Robinson, Rob Corddry). Heading to the ski lodge where they spent their teenage years with Adam’s nephew Jacob (Clark Duke) in tow, their trip takes an unexpected turn after a drunken night in their hotel room’s hot tub somehow leads to a leap back to 1986. They all want to get home to the future, but is it really worth it considering how badly each of their lives has turned out? The new spin on “Back to the Future” and ’80s movies as a whole also stars Lizzy Caplan, Collette Wolfe, Crispin Glover and Chevy Chase as the quartet’s mystical, largely undependable time-travel guide.Besides being available in both its original R-rated theatrical version and a special unrated version, the extras for the movie include deleted scenes and exclusive to the Blu-ray, featurettes such as “Production: Acting Like Idiots,” “Chevy Chase: The Nicest Guy in Hollywood,” “Totally Radical Outfits: Dayna Pink” and “Crispin Glover: One Armed Bellhop.” The 2-disc Blu-ray also comes with Digital Copy for download on most electronic devices. “Hot Tub Time Machine” retails for $29.98 on DVD and $39.99 on Blu-ray.
