Glastonbury pays tribute to Jackson

michael_jacksonTributes have been paid to Michael Jackson at the Glastonbury Festival where news he had died spread within minutes last night.  Revellers were left stunned as the news of his death from a heart attack at the age of 50 began to break.  Once his death was officially confirmed, festival goers paid their respects and tributes, with some people sporadically singing his sings while food stalls and tents began booming his greatest hits.  Emily Eavis, daughter of festival founder, Michael, said: “I am shocked. This is such a tragic moment. We haven’t got anything official to say yet but what I can say is there are tributes all over the site.  “Everywhere you go you can hear Michael Jackson’s music. I am sure the artists will pay tribute in their own ways. In the coming days everyone wants to pay their respects.”  Writing on her Twitter page later, she added: “So sad to hear the news about MJ. There will be tributes all over the site all weekend. A truly great artist. Emily.”  Dave McCabe, singer with The Zutons, told the BBC that some cover versions by the artists performing this weekend were inevitable:  He said: “Hopefully, ‘cos he’s got good songs and it’s always a winner.”
